Accident May 18th At Lights, Motors, Action

That's so sad...I hope that he will be okay...that's the risk those stuntmen take.

Every thing that traind stuntmen do has some danger to it a lot of them do it for the rush that the danger gives them but I do hope that he is ok

Wanted to add my thoughts and prayers as well. Hope there is a good update soon...

Nothing has been issued by Disney, so I would assume that the stuntman is okay.

Sure hope so...They put on a heck of a show.

Well, we watched the show on Friday afternoon...I assume is someone was SERIOUSLY hurt, the next day's show would have been cancelled.

It does sound like all is well but you still kinda hope that something would have been said/published like "yes there was an incident but all concerned are ok due to safety procedures in place" just to put the guests who saw they show minds at rest.

I think a lot of people would feel that way, but I bet there are a good number of people out there would would seek to exploit this situation to get their (perhaps totally irrelevant) digs in at Disney. Sometimes it is better to say a little rather than a lot.

I was at the show and saw the accident... the stuntman WAS moving about 10 seconds after the fall, so that was a great sign.

It was quite eerie. Most people thought it was part of the show, but I knew right away that it was no stunt.

I assume he's OK if we haven't seen anything released from Disney or in the papers... I've searched all the news papers and haven't seen a mention of this particular accident.

I would still like SOME inside info on the status of the stuntman, hopefully he's back on the bike and performing already!

I'm amazed they have as few accidents as they do. That show is complex. Repeating it day after day only serves to make it more dangerous. It's too easy to lose concentration.
Hope they guys okay.

I was kind of thinking that. They do it twice a day, every day, they get comfortable. They get used to the routine, used to what they are doing, feeling like they know it like the back of their hand and then - BAM - an accident. :moped:

Lights! Motors! Action! at Disney-MGM Studios
5/18/2006
During the second part of the first daily showing of the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show at the Disney MGM Studios, one stunt man was injured. The "hero" of the show was racing on a motorcycle when he attempted to jump a ramp while pursued by the "bad guys." His jump came up short and his front wheel slammed against the wall of the ramp, catapulting him head first into the ramp itself. The other cyclists avoided collision by making controlled falls. They all seemed all right. The injured stuntman barely moved and the attraction's staff immediately covered him with a tarp, obstructing the view of the 2,000 spectators who were shocked at what they had seen. Medical personnel and a stretcher were immediately dispatched. The theater was quickly emptied of the public. The injured performer was not evacuated until the theater was empty. When asked if the stunt performer was going to be all right, a cast member stated "We don't know yet."

Wow

I was wondering if that was going to happen... I'm hoping he gets well quickly and has no serious problems. :grouphug:
