My sister, DD and I went to MGM today. My sister hadn't seen the stunt show, so we decided to watch. It was almost at the end of the show. The good guy on the motorcycle went up the ramp to do a jump. When he hit the second ramp, it looked like he clipped the edge. He went head over heels and hit is head/neck on the ramp. He wasn't moving.

One of the bad guys on another cycle came over after and ended up falling in an attempt to miss the first guy. He seemed okay. He got up and ran to the first guy. People came running from everywhere.

They came over the speakers and said to do emergency evacuation procedures. The CMs started telling the audience to exit the stadium.

They brought out a tent like thing and placed it over the stunt guy that was down. Then, they took big paper things and wrapped them around the tent poles so that the audience couldn't see what was happening.

I hope the stunt guy is okay. He came down very hard on his neck. Very scary. Those guys really earn their pay.

Yikes we were just there on Saturday and the stunts seemed tame compared to what many motorcross guys do all the time.

It just shows that bad things can happen no matter how well trained or competent the people are.

I hope the stuntman is okay :wizard:

My thoughts and prayers to all concerned.

And I really don't mean to be flip about it, but I couldn't help thinking that they do the same thing for a horse that goes down at the race track - big tent w/sides to block the view....

Oh, that is awful - I feel badly for him and his family. I sure hope he is ok - wonder if we will ever know? Those guys do a fantastic job - it is a shame when something like this happens.

Such sad news. My thoughts to the family of the employee. I hope the stuntman is okay. At least there are procedures in place when something does happen whether fatal or not.

OMG... I hope he is okay. If anybody hears anything please post it.

Oh Boy
One of my co-workers daughters lives in Orlando and her boyfriend is one of the guys who does the motorcyle stuff in the show. I dont know which role he plays or if they switch off. I will ask tomorrow if it was him and if the stuntman is ok.

Saying prayers that this turns out to have good ending..it's alreay 10 pm I would think some news would be out on how he's doing. Anyone with more informational update...please post it

We saw the LMA show twice during our trip in April. It's easy to get complacent about what these guys -- and gals -- do on a daily basis. They are so skilled that they make it look easy, and that makes it easy to forget how bad it can be if something goes wrong. I had to remind myself, both at LMA and Indiana Jones, how skilled these professionals have to be in order to do these stunts day in and day out.

We'll hope and pray that all will be well with the injured rider.
