Accessible seating at Candlelight Processional?

Where is the WC seating at the Candlelight Processional, and will it still be necessary to buy the package to be guaranteed a seat? We purchased the Fantasmic dinner package in the past and realized that it wasn't necessary for us because with the chair, we needed to sit in the upper row anyway. I really want to see CP, but the package is pretty steep $$ for us, so if it's possible to get decent accessible seating without it, we will.

Thanks,

Julie

Over the last few years we have seen 3 CP's. My wife uses an ECV

we did the first with a package--Germany as i remember; the second on stand-by and the 3rd just watched it from the ropes. we liked Ben Vereen best and Rita Moreno is a fabulous singer. I don't remember the guy's name from Family Feud but he was the weakest of the three.

Anyway the package costs a lot and we found it very much like the Fantasmic package where the seats closer to the stage are nice. But the stage is crowded with singers and further back is very enjoyable too.

I vote for saving the money; see one of the earlier in the evening shows but I recommend choosing a star with Broadway in his/her background.

There is definitely accessible seating near the back row. I'm not sure about other seating locations though. Yes to your other question -- getting the dinner package is the only way to guarantee getting a seat, but as PP says you will probably be able to get seating without the package for earlier shows. It's just the luck of the draw and depends on crowds on the day you end up going. CP is definitely worthwhile though. Good luck

There is also handicapped seating in the middle aisle just behind where the package holders sit. If you can transfer to a regular bench seat you will be able to sit anywhere you like. I normally transfer as I like to sit closer to the interpreter than the middle aisle allows.

I usually sit in the wheelchair but can transfer. We have bought the package all 3 times so far. I also think it depends on the narrarator, what show you want to see etc. We had the package and got one of the last handicapped seatings once. This past time the cm told us there was none left. I told her I could transfer but didnt want to walk alot etc. Well what a nightmare it was. We ended up sitting in the sign language interpreting area. It was great seating but the cm's were really of little help and I was exhausted and in pain from walking around so much. Next time I am telling dh not to take so long eating. We usually go to garden grill, lst meal time. I only pick the tier 1 restraunts, but maybe this year might splurge on a tier 2, I figure we have to eat anyway.

Tell the CM you will drive your scooter up to the seating area and then it can be parked but will need to be brought back to you. Another option is to have a family members park it and bring it back. This is what I do. You have to tell them what works for you. I have had very few argue with me and if they try I stick to my guns about what works for me. I had one CM try to force me to stay in my wheelchair and I flat refused and told her I would be able to see the interpreter better if I transferred.

when you say the regular seating is benches, do the benches have a back? i can put my wheelchair cushion on a regular seat, but i need a back to the bench. thanks!

Yes they have backs at least in the front section. I could never sit there without a back.

thanks! we'll be getting the dinner package, but i dont want to take up a wheelchair spot since i can transfer to a regular seat - i know for something like this there are never enough wheelchair spots!
