I am thinking about taking a day to go to Kennedy on my next trip. I know it's an older facility. Does anyone have any information about accessibility on a scooter? I am especially interested in the tours. I can do a limited amount of walking if I have to. Thanks!
As a wheelchair user I found the tour easy to do with lifts on the buses, elevators and ramps. I'm not sure if all of the buses have lifts but it really wasn't much of a problem from what I remember.
I was there in February in a wheelchair borrowed for the day. The tours are great for a borrowed wheelchair as you can pick up a new one at each of the tour stops. I'm not so sure about a scooter though, as all the buses I was on were high floored coach style buses. I believe most/all have a wheelchair lift, but none of them looked like they could handle a scooter.
But as Bill said, all of the locations have fantastic ramps, elevators etc. You should be able to see everything with no real troubles. Hopefully you have someone to push the chair for you like I did.
