Accents!

I've got a New Englander's accent and I'm proud of it. I rarely prounounce 'r's if they're preceeded by a vowel. For example, "reported" becomes "repowahtid".

I've got quite a Geordie accent (Newcastle for those who dont know) and I tend to speak fast, as people like to tell me...

I have a mix. I learned more of my verbal skills in the midwest. But I lived more of my life down south. Now I live back up north or I have this weird southern-midwestern accent. And sometimes when I talk to my roommate for a long time (who is british) I pick that up. haha.

I can speak english very fluently and people compliment me on how they can't tell im puerto rican unless I start speaking spanish :)

I just have a question. Are you taught english throughout school in Puerto Rico? I was there last year and I've known people who are from Puerto Rico and they all speak english very well so I was wondering if that is part of the curriculum or is it taught more in the home?

I have a slight Southern accent. It's not always able to be heard, but on some things it can definitely be heard. When I get mad, especially.

Oh yeah, I talk fast. Sometimes I talk so fast I don't understand what I'm saying, lol. In DLR one person told me to slow down, they couldn't understand me that I was talking so fast.

I don't have an accent..at least I don't think I do..
My boyfriend on the otherhand does. He's from New Zeland so him and his family talk different. (: I love their accents. They say some things differently than I do but for the most part its pretty much the same.

I, apparently, have a south Jersey accent (whatever that is. lol)

But I do know when I talk to people I don't know, my voice usually get a little higher pitched and softer. Probably just my shyness coming out or something.
When I'm with my friends, my voice is just...normal. lol It's just how I usually talk.

I talk fast too. I also mess up my words. I know in my brain what I want to say but sometimes I can't get it out right.

Same!

Mine is slightly more Rhode Island-y, but it's basically a NE accent.

I also have a slight New England-y accent. My friend from Texas says its not noticeable all the time, but that she can really tell when I say words like "water", "car", "quarter" or many other words with prominent "a" or "r" sounds. That's what you get from living close to the city. I like it. My voice is way softer and baby-like than I imagine it to be in my head, and when I talk to people I don't know, my voice gets higher pitched and sounds very excited.

So that's what it is! I do the same thing with my r's sometimes, I'm originally from NJ. But since I've moved south some words sound more southern now, so it sounds weird. xD

I don't think I have an accent.
But I'm sure everyone does, just everyone around here has the same accent. Lol.

I love British accents but I hardly even notice them anymore because I watch a lot of movies with british accents in them.
I also loveee Australian accents.

I don't have much of an accent. I pray to God I'm not getting a Michigan accent. I'd freak out if I was.

I talk way fast too. But I don't think that's a speech issue. My brain just thinks than my mouth can move. Sometimes I barely finish a word before I start the new one. haha.

I do that all the time. Other times, I'll jumble my words. Like "a fat cow" will become "a cow fat" or "a fow". Then I just play with it and go "mmnmhmnm, excuse my mouth for a moment, it's not following directions". Corny, but funny.

I have a Northern Irish accent that is definatey counrtyfied because i live where the fields are green and the cows are a plenty lol
