ok so im sure someone has posted a question like this already but i couldnt find it....If someone could help me that would be great. At my school, academic good standing is having a 2.0 GPA. Right now I have a 1.92....bad first semester. After this semester, which ends may 14, I know I will have above a 2.0. Anyway, I was already accepted for the fall advantage for this year. So I guess my question is when do they check with your school to make sure you are ok to participate? Because i know i will have above a 2.0 before i leave but not until may 14....hope that makes sense. Im just being paranoid that they wont let me go

well i dont know anything yet..i have like a 0.54 or something ****ty like that. i was accepted also, but i contacted my school and no one knows anything aparently about the academic standing so im at a loss. i know one of the papers in my acceptance folder said something like "we will NOW check with your school to verify eligibility.." so im a tad nervous. i failed like my whole first semester...right now i have all b's but i guess we'll find out...

Hey guys I hope this helps on the Website it says that the GPA you need to qualify depends on what your school says you need for internships heres the link http://www.wdwcollegeprogram.com/sap/its/mimes/zh_wdwcp/apply/app_req.html And for example at my school the minimum is a 2.0 to participate in any internship. So talk to your career counselor or Academic advisor when you get a chance. Thats what I had to do.

would you reccomend maybe calling the recruiter and explaining it to them? Or should i not bring it to their attention?

Well if it were me I think I would Talk to either my career counslor or academic advisor first just because they might know when Disney may contact your school usually its the career councelor who is over internships so they may be able to help you. I don't know if you should contact Disney yet just because you might want to see where you really stand academically if that makes sense. Thats just what I would do if it were me, but also before you do anything talk to your parents and see what they think that seems to help sometimes too. I just feel like it may take Disney a little while to really check up on things like that just because they're still doing interviews but don't take my word on that because im new to this too but I think thats what I would do first if it were me!

sounds good! thanks again

I guess I dont know about your schools but my school (Iowa State University) and the college I am in (Business) doesn't even accept the disney program as an internship and I would need to go through extra stuff to even get that approved. Since I graduate in May I have decided not to do it through the school, so I dont know how that works either but I am above Disneys minimum... If your academic advisor or career coordinator doesn't know maybe if you contact your recruiter and see how soon they will check and if its before you get this semesters grades you might want to ask if they will wait until you get this semesters grades... I've been told that once Disney offers you the position they try everything to get you to accept and actually come, because if you decide a few weeks before your arrival that you don't want to do it they have open space in their housing and so they have to fill that spot. Instead of finding someone else they try and work with you to get you there..
