One of my friends just called me, and we were talking casually for a while before he brought up something that was clearly bothering him. His mother has breast cancer, and I'm one of the few people he talks to about it. Well, he told me, in a voice just trembling with fury, that his mother had gone to the hospital for a checkup and some nurse there actually told his mother to go "put some hair on", because she's lost all her hair from the treatments.

This just made me so mad. How could someone who works at a cancer facility say something like that to a patient?

That's awful.
It is not his mothers fault that she doesn't have hair.
I'm sure she, like many women felt awful when their hair fell out.
I don't know, if she lost her hair recently, or a long time ago, but I'm sure it's not helping her feel better about her situation.
I hope she gets better

That's awful!:sad2:

Maybe she was having a bad day and took it out on his mother.
But that still isn't a reason to say something like that.

I know; it was awful. I felt so bad for him and his family.

His mother didn't want to wear the wig she's got because it didn't feel right to her, covering up something that she can't help. Now he says that she's afraid to leave the house without it. It just makes me furious that someone could say something like that.

Suggest to your friend, if it doesn't seem rude, to tell her how beautiful she is, and what a great mother she is, with or without hair.
People who don't like her being bald, don't need her attention.
She shouldn't be afraid.

that is so horrible : (
i hope she starts felling better, and i agree that she should be commented on how pretty she is.
She will definitely be in my prayers

People need to learn their bed-side manners. And clearly, this nurse has none. Some people can be so rude. :sad2:

I hope she feels better, she is definantly in my prayers.

:sad2:
That's terrible! Ugh, that was so rude.... ugh!
