I have a cross that has been passed down from many generations. All of our family has a cross above our front door. Knock on wood but none of us have ever had our houses broke into.
We don't now, but when we moved in (and until it got kind of faded and I took it down) there was a swag/spray sort of thing made of eucalyptus and dried flowers.
We have a plaque with Walt’s opening speech for Disneyland. It was gifted to us by a friend who knows how much we love Disney.
It reads: “To all who come to this happy place: welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”
Nothing directly over the door (there's only about 6" of space there), but off to the side (over the side window) is a bell I got in Japan years ago. Kinda like this one (with a paper tab on the lower string to catch the wind):
Nothing directly above the door. When my daddy was in hospice, he asked us to get a crucifix to hang in his room. It now hangs on the wall next to our front door.
