So it finally happened! My hubby as agreed that it's a good idea to join the DVC! I want to sign up today, but we have a WDW trip in 65 days and he wants to wait until then or when we get back to join.

I have already mapped out every DVC trip I want to take well into 2012!

So DVC members..what kind of exciting stuff can I look forward to as a member????

Congratulations Wendy! I too have a reluctant DH and he just admitted he might be willing to do this DVC-thingy as he puts it. But I have to wait until January 2009 since that is our next trip and we rented BCV points for the stay. But I know that trip will convince him since we are also booked for 2 nights at the Grand Floridian and he will see that a twice-the-size-more-amenities villa is way better than a deluxe resort room (and half the price too!)

I would love to join right now! The deal is just too good to pass up! But he keeps tellling me not with the next trip just around the bend! Since we are staying off site and won't have the dining plan we will need plenty of money for the 6 of us for all our food!

I keep telling him I just need $700...$500 to put down on DVC (current incentive) and $200 to upgrade our 6 day base passes to the discounted annual passes!!! That's all.... $700 to start making my dreams come true!!

That is wonderful news! It really is exciting to start planning your DVC purchase! Do you know where you want to buy? The incentives are great right now! If you want to lock in to the current deal, all you have to do is put down $500 and they'll "hold your spot" so to speak. I will PM the name of my guide-he is wonderful!!

Alright you two -- do you need me to call your husbands? :teeth:

Seriously, I know you're both very anxious and the only advice I can give you is to remind your DH's that there's a very good chance the price per point will go up quite a bit once they start selling GCV (demand will be high because there just aren't as many points to buy there) and BLT (members have been begging for a monorail DVC for years!).

Now here's where I throw in the 'ol standby -- if it's meant to happen, it will happen. So just try to hang in there until your spouses are onboard.

GOOD LUCK!

We are going with the 160 points and are on the waitlist for Jambo house. My guide called yesterday to say we are now number 3 on the list! With the $500. visa rewards and 160 developer points and getting points for 2008 it is a total value. We are using our first points in April and then plan on Disneyland in the summer. We will have points left over to bank or we may try Hilton Head if we can get in last minute:-)

That's wonderful. Do you have any idea where you were at on the waiting list originally? Just wondering how long it took to move to #3. Sounds like you've had a ton of fun already planning how to use your points. Be careful or you'll need an add-on before you even buy the first set. :teeth:

I just had my first DVC trip in June and it exceeded my expectations. My family and I spent 3 nights in Vero at a 1BR with the most fantastic ocean view ever! Then we spent the next 5 nights at SSR in a 2BR. Before DVC I would never, ever stay in those accomodations. We were able to fly my son's friend down to stay with us at SSR and we even had room for our Daytona Beach friends to visit for 2 nights. It was an absolutely wonderful way to vacation at the world.

The best part is my DH and I are going again for 4 nights in December (staying in a studio) since we both have AP's. I am actually getting 3 trips out of my AP this year since I bought it as soon as our contract went through while I was visiting solo. The DVC discount really makes the AP affordable.

It took awhile for us to make a definate decision on DVC, but I am so glad we did. The customer service has been fantastic so far. I am really looking forward to many enjoyable trips. My only problem is I already want MORE POINTS!

Good luck to all in their purchases!

I have off in the summer..well I go back Sept. 2 and I think I am going to use my first paycheck and just do it! I want to be a member like the rest of you!!!!!! OMGSH...It consumes my mind! My guide sent me a beautiful book and I look at it constantly! UGH! I can't take it anymore!
