About those afternoon breaks....

We do the early openings (I am NOT a morning person, and this is torture until I get in the park, then I'm happy). We cover as much territory as possible and usually leave the parks at about 11:30. We go have lunch then head to a waterpark or the hotel until about 5:00. Then we go back to the parks for the evening. Our last trip, DH got really sick, so our usual hour and a half nap turned into more like 3 hours. Didn't matter much because it rained all afternoon anyway.

But those midday breaks are ESSENTIAL to keep your mental and physical conditions in top form. WDW is enormous fun, but there's alot of work involved. ;)

Well I'm now rethinking various parts of the itinerary and seeing if there is some other day on which the Ice Cream social might be better.

Course I also have the added disadvantage of having to schedule time to go back and visit my D.O.Gee at the Kennels. I've actually been giving some thought for this first day of putting him at the TTC kennel if we want to go all day to catch the social so I could just stop and walk him before we head over to Epcot.

Ahh the details....well you all have been a great help so far and I hope you'll continue to stick with me while I try to work them all out over the next couple months. Now if Disney would just cooperate and give me the park hours and show times!

another option might be to try what we are doing....start your day at the ice cream social & continue on until the evening....make that your relaxing day....wake up later than normal, laze around the pool & then head out to Epcot....this year we want to see the parade at MK but can never make it if we start at 8:00....so we are going at 2:00ish & staying until close....worth a try....

Take a ride on the various monorial routes eventually ending up at Epcot.
When you get to the platform for the Epcot monorail, be sure to ask to sit up front with the driver. Tell them you don't mind waiting a train or two. During the middle of the day you can usually do this!

I would do the social on your Epcot day. You will already be there , so why waste time (and energy) running around? Epcot has more places that have AC (inside attractions) to relax in.

We take breaks every day (religiously) at noon, whether tired or not. Getting to the parks before opening is a must! Hit your top attractions. Have lunch and then head back to FW for a swim/rest. Head out again about 5 (depending on park hours).

Look over your itinerary. See where you can simplify things. We never leave one park to go to another for a PS . A big tip of mine is: Eat where you are! If we have a dinner PS , we are coming from our hotel, where we have just rested and showered, not from another park (huffing and puffing). If you want to do the social, my suggeston is :do it when you are in Epcot already!
