Just wanted to let all you REAS'ers know that I spoke to a DCL rep today about the package, and this is what she told me: Now included in the Romance Basket is 2 robes along with a voucher for an 8x10 photo. You also get a bottle of wine at dinner in Palo. (This is in addition to other stuff that has always been included.)
I know this has been a big subject of discussion, and there were some who thought that the package wasn't worth the price anymore (especially since you can now make ressies online). So I just wanted to pass this info along to everyone who's interested. Keep in ming though, that this doesn't start until 2006. Hope this helps!!

WOw, that sounds kind of interesting..Glad they added something, for that price..

NOw, did you keep it? or cancel? Sorry, just being nosey old me..

No need to apologize...to be honest, I had called and cancelled it yesterday, but when I called and spoke to them about it this afternoon and found out about the "extras" that they have added, I changed my mind and got them to add it back!!

The robes, the wine at Palo, and the 8X10 definitely add to the value a bit...but I wonder why they decided to change it? Why not offer options...either the couples massage OR rainforest pass/robes? That might appeal to more people!

Actually that makes it sound a lot better. I knew they had to add something. Please let us know how the robes and your experience once you return from your cruise. I would love to hear about the robes.

I will definitely let you know. I am glad that they added something back to it so that I'd have a reason to re-book it. I didn't tell my husband that I had re-booked it, so I'm going to try and surprise him, if I can keep quiet that long...LOL!!

I was very disappointed to learn that the couples massage had been dropped from the the REaS package, but these additions make me feel better about adding it, anyway. The deciding factor for us was the ability to book reservations at 110 days. Now we'll get some extra goodies! :cool1:

I'm a little confused...

I know that they announced that the package would be changing in 2006 (no more couples massage - instead a length of cruise passes to the Tropical Rain Forest).

Are the robes, photo voucher and bottle of wine at Palo immediate changes? Or will they begin in 2006 with the other changes?

We are sailing in 2 weeks and may get the best of both worlds! The added robes, photo voucher and bottle of wine at Palo AND the couples massage!

Oops! I just saw that you stated that this will begin in 2006.

I may call Disney tomorrow just to be sure that we will be getting the Massage and not the Rain Forest (Disney has already changed the package description on their website).

I would hate to get charged for the couples massage we have scheduled because we didn't cancel 2 days before sailing.

Please post your answer, I wrote Disney an e-mail for clarification the other day and have yet to receive a response (aside from the automatic "We got it" reply). I went ahead and booked my Couples Massage today, but I know it's not the same one.

what is the $ value of an 8 x 10 photo?

If I remember correctly, about $20.

I was a big fan of the REAS prior to them making the changes for 2006. DH and I did the REAS last summer (2004) and LOVED the couples' massage and the ability to pre-book the massages and make our Palo reservations.

The basket with the chocolates, champagne, and photo album were not anything big to us, and in fact I have the photo album shoved in a drawer here somewhere, and on the last night we drank the champagne just because I didn't want to deal with carrying it off the ship. The basket itself is cute I guess, I have it here on my desk, holding some papers.

But I have to say, the robes sound good! DH has mentioned a few times in the past that he'd like to get robes during one of our cruises, and we haven't done that yet! And I know we'd be purchasing photos, so both of those things are a real value for us. The wine at dinner at Palo is something I'd rather have too, than a bottle of (cheap) champagne in the basket. I'm sure the wine is not an expensive wine, but I can tolerate cheap wine better than cheap champagne. lol :earboy2:

Maybe we will book the REAS for next summer, after all! :)

Want to say we cruise last week with the REAS package. I would not pay for it again if it is the same package. No way. But with the changes it might would be worth it. We only booked this for the option of booking reservations early, but then DCL up and changed that on us. Which they told me 2 years ago to look for these changes in the near future. Thought about cancelling but DH thought we should not. Just to clarify what you are telling us. The REAS package now includes, romantic gift basket, Palo ressies, Rainforest passes, romantic brekafast in bed, turn down service, a bottle of wine at Palo, certificate fro 8X10 pictures and robes. Do I have it all?

Oh and by the way, I used my paint chips you mailed me last week. I think my door was looking pretty good if I do say so myself. :rotfl2:

Oh, I need a new robe!! I wasn't going to get the REAS because of the changes, but now I'm once again tempted... :goodvibes

So, it sounds like you get the basket with the champagne, photo album, chocolates (I know, lifesavers!), and then you get the turn down service, breakfast in bed, and in addition you get an 8x10 photo, robes w/Rainforest passes and a bottle of wine in Palo's -- right? That actually sounds like they upped the ante quite a bit since they first announced the changes. Maybe they are listening to us??? :confused3

What is the earliest you can book the REAS package? We are booked for the 10/14/06 7 night sailing and our travel agent told me it was too early to book this package.

How long was the massage? I thought it was shorter than the regular Couples Wellbeing massage. I want to go ahead and reserve it online, but want to make sure I'm reserving the right one.

KevinP - we leave tomorrow and have the REAS. We booked through DU and they told us to book the couples well being massage. I guess I will find out tomorrow when we go to hte spa if it's the right thing. I do know they give you a choice once in the room for either the well being massage OR the spa tester which has a shorter massage and facial i think. I will definitly let you know about this tomorrow.

It's never too early to book REAS. You can do it at the same time you place your deposit.
