About the REAS plan

How long was the massage? I thought it was shorter than the regular Couples Wellbeing massage. I want to go ahead and reserve it online, but want to make sure I'm reserving the right one.

Both of these massages are 50 minutes long, as far as I know. DH and I did the couples' massage as part of the REAS package, and we did the Spa Taster, and the entire thing was about an hour. :)

On the price list, the descriptions are the same; I have not seen a shorter time listed for the couples' massage, unless this is something new? :confused3

Now either I am confused  OR the Disney agent is. I will be calling back to talk to someone else.

I called to confirm the massage I booked online was the one included in the REAS. I was told the REAS I booked for November does not include the massage, :earseek: and that the REAS package had changed. I told him I was confused  , that I understood it didn't change until 2006, and my cruise was this year. Was told "subject to change at any time". HOPEFULLY he just didn't have all the facts! Don't want to add the cost of 2 massages to my cruise.

I will call back next week (busy weekend, long hold time) and see if I get the same answer.

Just a silly question, Has anyone done the REAS package when they have the kids along or is this just a couple thing? Our 6 yr old is cruising with us and the package sounds awesome and it is something I would like to do but I just wanted to hear that someone else has done this package with the kids cruising with them. :confused3

Thanks

It's just a couple thing :love2: That's what the Kids' Club is for :goodvibes

There is a great post from a person who got the REAS. Palo and spa is for the adults, but she ordered extra rooms service for the kids. If I can find the thread I will post it.

To halestrm. I just called DCL this AM, as we are also cruising in November and have the REAS booked. The person I spoke with confirmed that the package still includes the couples massage. He stated that when we receive our final documents, there should be something in there spelling out everything that is included. If I find out the package has changed when our documents arrive, I will just cancel the package (since I definitely don't want the Rainforest passes), which I think you can do anytime up to 2 days prior to sailing and have the money put onto our onboard account.

Joanne :)

thanks for finding that thread for me. I haven't quite made up my mind to book it or not. I love the robe idea but I can probably buy the robe in the gift shop if I really want one. I will have to talk to DH about the possiblity of the REAS package.

Thanks again-
mary :wave2:

I was wondering though... :scratchin Are the robes for us to keep or are they for us to use? You know, like in some hotels you get courtesy robes, but they are not for you to bring home. Just a thought. :goodvibes

Never mind. I just read the op's post more carefullt & it said that the robes are included "in" the romance basket.

Haven't had a chance yet to call Disney... I will try to call next week.

That is disappointing if the Couples Massage is no longer included as of right now.

I think we will probably cancel the REAS then. I don't think they can/would undo our Palo ressies now... they changed the package so close to our sailing (2 weeks away at this point) that I don't think it is worth it for us.

If they did credit our shipboard account with the REAS cost, what happens if we don't use $339 in onboard drinks and excursions?

If we end up cancelling, we will have gratuities for four and I will probably just take them out of our shipboard account. That would suck up a lot of the $339. Then, we can just tip extra to those deserving it.

I really appreciate your feedback. I figure someone was looking at a screen without really knowing what was up when I called. I can't imagine they would announce changes for 2006 then move it up without notice.

Now I just need to confirm I booked the correct massage.

I'm afraid we're just two people so our gratuities won't reach $339 (Having both been in service jobs, we also like to tip cash so the staff does not need to wait to get their money)... Since this is our first cruise and first trip to Nassau we aren't doing any shore excursions... In our case we'd find it hard to use $339 onboard (I think.)

I read somewhere they they don't give you shipboard credit, the amount would actually be refunded to your credit card and would take at least one billing cycle. I could be wrong, but that was my understanding...

I'm still debating on whether to add REAS, or not. Can anyone else convince me to do it??

Sure, I convinced myself...heehee!
I just thought that it would be really cool to have a special basket waiting on us when we get to our room with all those goodies in it..and the robes will be there to use for the whole cruise...could even use them when you go to the Rainforest room to use your passes that you also get with the REAS...not to mention that you don't have to pay the $10/person surcharge for Palo, and you get that voucher for an 8x10...Lord knows how many pictures you'll have made during your trip...And just think of that wonderful champagne breakfast in bed when you can order those Mimosas...mmmm!!!
So did that work, have you already decided to book the REAS!! :rotfl:

Hi. I received an email confirmation from DCL that our REAS package for our 11/26 cruise will include the couples massage. :cool1: I am definitely going to print out the email and bring it along in case there is a problem, but I don't think the package is going to change until 2006.

Yeah, I think that worked!! I'm totally into being pampered on vacation (or any other day, for that matter :teeth: ). Plus I'll get to make reservations for Palo, etc. at 105 days out. Now the hardest part -- waiting for our first cruise...
