I'm putting them on my luggage now for our departure tomorrow. It says just remove the backside where it says, so do they just stick together by the tips - you don't remove all the backing just the little square where it says remove here???

help.........

Take a look at the picture of the yellow tag attached to a suitcase handle in this MousePlanet article: http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=mm051004ww

As the picture shows, you remove the backing from each end of the tag, but you keep the backing on rest of the tag. You put the tag through a handle, and you press the two sticky parts against each other. The tag will stay on, but it won't leave a sticky mess on your bag because the adhesive doesn't touch your bag.

Right. Just slip each tag through a suitcase handle, remove only the end tabs and press the sticky side of each exposed end to the back of its opposite-end sticky side.

Removing ALL the backing will just be messy and make the tags harder to manuever.

As an added precaution I staple my tag together just make sure it does not come off .Sometime that adhesive they use is not all that good. Just don't staple anywhere on the bar code.

How long is one ME bag tag?

Well, I still don't have my trip stuff :( but from what I recall - about two inches wide by eight or ten inches long

Amazing memory! Two inches wide, just about 8.5 inches long. The parts on each end where you remove the backing are 1.5 inches long each.

I think I'm using 2 tags then. Mine are longer than 8.5 incehs and longer than pictured in the mouseplanet article. This is my 4th time using ME but the tags just seem different this time!

Okay, I haven't heard about any changes BUT:
Turn the tags over so the backing is facing you. Don't remove anything yet - just look and see if there are 'splits' in the backing near each short end of the tags. You know, where you'd bend the tag to peel off the backing? Wish I could help more, but I STILL don't have my stuff :(
Anyway, as long as that's how the backing looks, and the front is, of course, bright yellow with a bar code and some text, you should be fine. Just peel off ONLY the backing on each end, not off the entire tag.

Thanks, Eric! Now, what was I supposed to do for your kids at the end of the month? Long-term memory is fine; short-term, not so much. Who are you, again? :teeth:
