How much of the course can be seen from the units with the golf view? Is it the Lake Buena Vista course and does anyone have photos? Thanks.

It is the LBV course and some of the buildings/balconies have a great view of the fairways and some of the greens. Buildings 17,18,19,23, 62,16, 63, 64(among others) all look out greens. 14,15 (and others) look out on tees and many look out over fairways.

Here are a few photos with the course in view.

The course weaves it's way through the entire complex and many villas have a good view of some aspect of the course. You can also get a feel for the views by looking at the OKW map.

Enjoy!

We stayed at OKW last April.

We had a great view of the fairway and green on one of the holes. Unfortunately, I don't know which course it was. Also, the course was not open to due irrigation work, so we never got to see golfers. But the view was beautiful.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom in unit 1330 directly across from the Hospitality House.

The units back-up to the course. The balconies look out onto the course in many instances. Sometimes a "golf course view" can be somewhat limited due to the shape of the course. A rise could block the view. However, some of the views are absolutely breathtaking in the sweep of the the course that you see. Besides being able to see the golfers, you can also enjoy seeing all types of wildlife out on the course. Early in the morning it can be bird watcher heaven.

I didn't realize the course backed up to the units. I thought that the players I would see in the morning were utilizing some putting areas, not realizing it was the course itself. I'll be sure to check out those photos. Thanks again.

We were facing a green when we stayed in building 26 on the end close to 25. We also stayed in buiding 28, that faced the fairway but you couldn't see much because they put alot of trees there, I guess to protect the buildings from ball hits. I also stayed in building 50 once, it faced a green.

We also stayed in building 13 on the 3rd floor on our first trip. The balconies in that building overlook a hole where the tee shot must clear a pond. We whiled away quite a bit of time watching golfers dub shots into the water, onto 1st floor balconies, into bushes, etc. In fact, at one point my 3YO granddaughter said to me "These guys aren't any good, are they?"

We overlooked the green for the 8th hole in Building 64 second floor, and it had water too. What a hoot!:p We had the most fun watching the goings-on there! It's free entertainment, and lots of fun! We watched one group of 4 carts, 2 were golfers, the rest was the family of mom and girls who spent their time trying to recover balls from the water, and nearly falling in! Several of them slid part way into the water, and there was much screaming and laughing going on--I don't think the golfers themselves did too well, though;)

How true! We have a couple pictures of the view from Blding 64 in the link below. It is one of our favorite buildings. Since it is somewhat of an Island Green, quite a few of the balls get lost in the water. Watched a guy in the pouring rain this summer fish out at least a few dozen in less than 30 minutes. I'm sitting up on the balcony nice and dry sipping a cup of coffee reading the paper. Offered him a cup, but he politely declined and went back to fishing.:)

We were just in 37 and had a Golf course view. My only complaint was they mowed the greens at 3:30am!!!:(

We, too, also enjoyed watching the golfers from bldg. 64. One day we saw bubbling in the water. We all thought it was an alligator or something. We watched and watched. Lo and behold it was a scuba diver cleaning balls out of the water. We have it on video and laugh everytime we watch it. It was so funny!!

What out for the golf balls!!

Somebody had a wicked slice of the tee box to the left of the bridge as you enter OKW when we were getting out of the car in Aug last year. The leaves of the palms caught it depositing on the road surface in the car park beside me (outside building 14?)

It was a titlest ball and was still there 2 hours later. I had'nt the heart to tell him he had no chace of a shot and was better of with taking three form the tee :D

Last year a chap was prosecuted for theft here in the UK for doing this.

The Golf club concerned claimed that once they where in the water they belonged to the club.

The incident was all over the golf magazines who proclaimed as being the death of lake balls.

With all the real crime out there the poor chap must have been considered easly pickings.

Some golf views look like good views on the map but are not because of trees put there for your protection from golf balls. I have found that about 90 percent of the views are real nice at OKW but not all of the golf course. A few a really blocked in by trees that are necessary for privacy.

We once saw Payne Stewart from our balcony.:(

The photos are great! Just makes me feel like I'm standing there.

kylie,

I believe the scuba diver is employed by WDW!! LOL!! I hope anyways, that he just wasn't desparate to retrieve his balls!!!

This story from Underwater Magazine is a few years old. Diving for golf balls is still a big business. I wonder if Disney does hire their own divers.
