Don't get me wrong - I LOVED the food on the cruise. But did you guys find that what came out on your plate was nothing as was described on the menu? It was kind of like a surprise every night.

We've never experienced this. I've found that things were a little bit 'different' than what we're used to at restaurants around us, but actually better and more authentic. I am also pleased with the portions. It's amazing how chain restaurants give you way too much to eat!

Please elaborate a bit more...example?

The best example I can think of was my husband ordered chicken stuffed with shrimp scampi in Palo. The shrimp stuffing was more like a fine ground up stuffing that didn't resemble shrimp scampi at all.

Like I said - I thought the food was excellent. I am not used to eating such luxurious food. Maybe that is why I thought what I was getting was different than what was described on the menu. I am a very picky eater and my husband eats anything. What is ironic is I loved the food much better than he did.

That means that you're not a "picky" eater...you're just waiting for the luxurious food (or as we call it...the "shi shi poo poo" food...you know...ritzy!).

There were indeed a couple surprizes... But it usually resembled what was ordered... Never did get any beef served 'medium' as ordered, always overdone and dry....

Now, if the food had just been HOT, and not very very dry, and sometimes downright bland !

I found that the night with Filet mignon It wasn't what I thought (Now whether the menu said it or not is a whole different story). It was served with sauce under it and mushrooms on top. YUK Other than that I thought everything else was as it was presented.
