I thought I read on this board that one could only take one timeshare tour in a 12 period. I cannot find the thread but the way I interpreted it was that it meant one per year not one per hotel. This does not make sense to me and I am probably wrong.

Also, I just got a super fantastic deal from Sheraton(V V for 29 per night no tour!! 4 nights only). We were considered Preferred Customers and they gave us 12 months to redeem it( of course I grabbed it). I originally thought that I got it because I had stayed three times with them but then someone else on the board got the same invitation and had not stayed with Sheraton. I did take a timeshare tour this year and my second question is what do the people giving the tour do with the info. Is there a list of people who take the tour available to others? The deal is non transferrable AND I received my reservation confermation today and it clearly specifies that I bring the invitation. Just curious if anyone one else got one and if they can figure how they became "preferred"?

These restrictions are for people returning to the same resort, sometimes to any resort within a system. After you received a promo rate or gift (like free park tix) as part of an agreement to tour with salespeople, you are not eligible to do it again with the same company for a certain period of time. The different companies don't exchange potential buyer lists.

My husband and I went on one of these timeshare tours for free tickets a few years ago and found it to be a relatively painless way to pick up some park tickets. We had signed up in the lobby of our hotel, the Hotel Royal Plaza. For this trip, we were searching the web to see what our options would be to sign up in advance of our trip. We did a google search on "Orlando free tickets" and found a number of places offering tickets in exchange for timeshare tours. We did not sign up for a number of reasons (mainly because they wanted a $20 deposit on our credit card and we did not feel comfortable giving our credit card number to these unknown people). However, nowhere on the webpage did it say what timeshare you'd be touring. Do either of you know how to get in touch with some of the actual timeshare organizations directly, so we could sign up for a tour at one or two different places?

We leave next Monday and will be down for 2 weeks, so may just scope out the possibilities once we arrive...

I do not know all that much about these tours. I have only taken one once in my life and that was this summer. I figured I interpreted it incorrectly and am happy to know that was the case.
Still I wonder how it is that I got that great Vistana deal with NO tour since they do not exchange customer info then what would qualify me to be a "preferred customer" is beyond me.
