We're renting our points for the first time and I have a question:

Do you usually get the rentee's personal information (names, address, etc) before calling for availability or do you call for availability, put the ressie in your name and then change the information over to their names once you've secured the room?

Thanks for your help!

It could be done either way, but seems to me like it would be simplier to make the original ressie in the correct name. It's one less phone call. As the owner, you still have control of the ressie, so it doesn't matter whose name you use, but the person renting the ressie would surely like to see a confirmation in their name and be able to verify it independently.

I usually get the name and address first, because most people will not give you that info unless they are really interested. It just cuts way down on the number of people who are "cruising", wanting to know if there is space available in case they decide in the future to take a vacation at that time. I am not interested in giving info to the idly curious, I am looking to rent out some of my points, so I never even respond to the people who email me with "check these dates" unless they actually send me actual personal info so that I can make the reservation. :thumbsup2

It is easier to get the info first. It will save you a phone call later on to change the reservation and will probably cut down on the time to rec. the hard copy of the reservation to forward to the rentee. If you need an agreement letter I have one that was posted on here that is really good. You can just tweek it the way you want. It is in Microsoft Word format.
