? about Refillable mugs...

we were told that the slushie machines were cherry and a coke one plus possibly a blueberry one.

Do you know if they have the slurpee type drink at Pop Century? If so, is it one flavor or multiple flavors available? My DS would drink 5 of them a day if I let him so it would be a great purchase for us if it is included in the free refills.:yay:

We were told they had slushies at Pop--my son was so excited to be able to get a mug for this reason. Well, the slushie machines were broken until the 6th day of our stay. We even asked a CM who went and got the manager and they said that the motors went out on them??? Well 2 days later, the machines were up and running (although not filled all the time). There was coke flavored and blue raspberry.

There is apple juice at Pop's refillable drink station--but it was mostly water as I noticed a lot of the soft drinks were too. From what I could see (and I don't want to start a mug war here), there was an awful lot of use of the drink station from paper cups, water bottles and other refillable mugs. I don't think they can keep up with the station if you want my honest opinion.

But the best part is------is the CM told the person in front of me (as he was buying his first ever mug), that it was good for LIFE at ANY of the resorts. Which ok, part of that is true---it is good for any of the resorts now.....but LIFETIME??

I knew you all would enjoy that one....:) I smiled to myself after she said that.

Actually thats what we were told in April 2006 at ASM, we bought 2 of the mugs and she told us that it was good for ALL of our future stays at Disney.

Yep, and that's the joke of it---if you look at the mug near the handle it says for the entire length of your stay. I saw people filling up the blue Disney paper cups, their plastic water bottles, sippy cups, their coffee mugs---everything. It was quite comical. Kind of like a free for all.

I checked it out when someone in a diff thread made a comment about it. I thought we were told the same thing so you cant blame them. We never even noticed the writing on the cup... we werent looking for it actually so paid no attention to it. We were told the cups were good for all future visits so thought nothing of it.

think in 1995 they used to have posters up saying lifetime refills for $$$.they soon closed that ,sounds a bit like what there doing with outher things, wish i took a photo.would post it for anyone with an old mug

These threads generally breakdown into name calling. glad to see this one didn't.

The mugs are a great deal for those of us who drink a lot of pop! DS and I both saved a ton of money last September! He even bought 2 of them because he drinks so much coke!

Is it worth it? If you can only refill it at your resort and I don't drink Coffee, tea or soda, what would i refill it with? I don't have a desire to drink hot chocolate when out and about in the hot weather, hmmmm....and no juice? If it could be refilled w/ Juice then i would def. get them for the kids.

pop has juice and Icees

Does anyone know what they have at POFQ? I am going to be there for 3 weeks so I am definatly going to get my moneys worth.

We definitely found it worth it. We only got two between the four of us though. We will be buying them again this stay.

For the waterparks, I know that when we were there you could buy the one mug and use at both parks...you would just need to buy a sticker for the other park to go on your mug. Anyone know if this is still the case? When we were there at the time we didn't know that, and bought a mug for each waterpark, the CM at the park told us that when we come back (our next trip) we can bring our mugs as they are good forever, then just buy the sticker, does anyone know if this is still true? I don't mind buying new mugs but I do mind lugging the old ones if I cannot use them.

How easy it is to carry the things around with you at the parks? Like I have a bottle holder on my waist pack. Hate having to have things in my hands all the time, so is it possible to use something to hold the mug with?

we go in jan with the deluxe plan, so will have a mug

I guess it depends on where you stay and how long the walk is to the food court to get your refill. We just used one of our sling pack straps to strap it around and it wasn't a bother at all. If we wanted, we could have asked for ice in the parks and filled up with water, but we strapped it to our sling so that on the way back from the parks we could hit the food court and fill up with a nice cold drink and take it back to the room with us.

ok... so this is my first post. Let me put in the disclaimer right now. I am wayyyyyy to organized. I like specifics so I have detailed questions and give too much information. :thumbsup2

So, I am planning part of a family vacation (I am in charge of me, mom, and dad). We are staying at the Pop Century and going (heaven help us) during Thanksgiving week (SIL's idea, not mine). I think the mug sounds like a good idea not just for the economic value but for the enviromental value as well.

Forgive the mini rant but I like to do my part for the environment and really work to be as green as possible. I usually carry around a refillable water bottle/carrier so that I don't use anyone's paper/plastic/or godforbid styrofoam. Even if I get fast food, I'll hand over my bottle and ask to use it instead. And, yes I know I'm a dork, I carry around a camping fork/spoon so I don't use disposible silverware too.

I called Disney to find out the specifics of bringing in a water bottle/carrier and the guy I spoke to said you can bring in water bottles and snacks and such in a soft-sided cooler (btw I wanted to confirm this info). So, what I need to know about the mugs is (1) how many ounces does it hold? (2) does it have a lid? (3) is there a straw opening or a sip slot? (4) Can you use the mug instead of the disposable cup with when you buy your food, not free drink but just use my glass?

Thanks!!

I can tell you that they will not let you use your mug to refill in the park even if you pay because of health issues so you will not be able to help the environment this way. I remember someone asking about this earlier, and the CM told them to just take the cup and pour it in your mug, which kinda defeats the purpose. I have always taken in snacks for my little guys in a small cooler type bag and they just look through it to make sure you don't have anything dangerous in it then tell you to have a magical day.
(1) how many ounces does it hold? somewhere around 12oz
(2) does it have a lid? yes
(3) is there a straw opening or a sip slot? both

has anyone seen what the plans at universal STudios are like, wow, I give it 4 years and disney will be as bad... The already are doing the mug thing , and well you'll see.

if you have split stays the mug is valid at both stays.Mugs are generic now YOAMD.Weve got 2 stays 7 nights ssr and 7nights pop and have been told by MS and CRO ok to do
Paulh

Yea! We're doing a split stay as well, and I really want to get a mug for our first night at POP because of of the icee's, but there wouldn't be much point if we couldn't use it for the next 14 nights at POFQ.

Does anyone know what they have at POFQ? I am going to be there for 3 weeks so I am definatly going to get my moneys worth.

Wondering this as well. Having stayed there last year, I know generally what they have (coke, diet coke, sprite, minute maid light lemonade, coffee, etc.), but am hoping for specifics. Maybe someone has a photo?

Although, we could probably get our money's worth in 2 days of icees at POP! TIA!

I was told this morning by my AAA agent that the "premium" DDP that is coming out for next year includes a refillable mug which is good at all of the PARKS.

Hmmmm, I thought I had just read somewhere that the parks wouldn't refill the mug due to health safety issues?? :confused3
