Does POR have preferred rooms/buildings? I have seen posts about bldg. 14 being a good location and was wondering how bldg. 18 is. It's hard to tell from the map if things are as spread out as they look. Any help?

I'm interested also. I've read blding 14 is good, but can be noisy. I've also read blding 18 is good. One guide says blding 15 is good and another says it's the worst one to be in. Help!

I can help with building #18. It is very close to the food court & busses. But, it is a smoking building building. #14 & #15 are closer, but I understand #14 is more for the handicap.

#18 also has a quiet pool. Hope this helps.

I actually called today and requested bldg. 18, but now that I know it's smoking I'll definately have to call back and change that request. Is it better to just request a building close to main building or a specific one?

You can take a look at the map on this site and it will give you a good idea of where buildings are located. If you want to be in the Alligator Bayou...the ones closest to the main building and food court are #14, 15 and 16. You are right that #14 is reserved primarily for those with disabilities. We stayed in 15 and it was very nice. A great location to the main bldg. bus stop and food court. And there is a quiet pool just a little bit away. If you request one of those bldgs. then the room assignor will do their best to get you in that area. Just remember to list your requests in the order of importance. And, keep in mind that the AB doesn't have elevators for the second floor...only stairs.

We stayed in 16 over Labor Day Weekend. It was right next to a quiet pool (although our kids always went Ole Man Island) and a short walk to the food court. I think I will try requesting 14 though for an upcoming November trip. At any of the spread out hotels, I find if I get there early that day and get my request in first thing in the morning, I get it. If I'm coming in late, it's a 50-50 chance.

I just reserved two rooms for my family of five for POR Riverside. We have 3 teenagers and I thought one room would be too cramped. I think I would like the Mansion area but I'm not sure which building. I would like to be close to the bus stop and food court if possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Linda

Lindamary123 -- Try for Magnolia Terrace.
Great location: right next to the walking bridge that leads to the restaurants, check in, etc; a quiet pool/laundry facilities are on the left (if you are facing the building); a bus stop is right out back.

Thanks Luv2Roam!!

I will request Magnolia Terrace. It sounds just like what I'm looking for.

We stayed in building 27 this August because building 14 was being painted on the outside. 27 was that bad close to food court, quite area and also close to quiet pool. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

As with many others I too stayed in 16. It was about 3 minutes from the restaurant and main entrance.

If you are going to be using the disney busses the only thing I would recommend is pick a building that accesses the main bus stops as many times the busses were full when we went around to the stops on the other side of POR. The place is very spread out so a small road accesses the buildings that are far from the main entrance.

Can you get to the main pool pretty easy from #27? I looked at the map and it looks really close, but since I've never been there I don't know about bridges or walkways. Is there a bridge that you can walk across the water to get to the pool or do you have to go back towards the food court/front desk area to access it?
