? about one-time use points

Can I modify my current reservation (to add one day before) on-line if I need one-time use points to complete the transaction? My 7 months in advance is tomorrow on the holiday, so hoping I can do this on-line instead of waiting another day.

You always have to call MS to use OTU points. They can't be purchased or even seen online. Hope the day is still available when you call on Tuesday.

Even after you buy OTU points to make a reservation you can't even modify that reservation online. You have to call in to modify a reservation that has OTU in it

Yes. Since it's a 7 month reservation, there is a relatively small risk that the last night(s) will be booked by someone else before you can get to MS.

Ive been in the same situation the last week with OTU points. I was told they couldn't redistribute OTU points to another reservation. even though the other reservation was done at 7 months. It would have made it easier if we could have resdistributed them to a reservation I know im going to keep. Instead I have to call to modify it if something better opens up

In my case, it made more sense to add on the first night using OTU, due to the last night having on and off availability (so I booked that already as soon as it became available). The first night has been and still is available.

I am 27 points short for an upcoming trip (first time doing the star wars race!) . I assume I can buy 24 OTU and then just borrow the remaining three from the following use year?

Yes, that would work., but only at the 7 month window. You have to call MS to make the part of the reservation that uses the OTU points.

P.S. Race weekends can be a tough booking at 7 months, especially if you have to wait for MS to open.. If you plan to stay at your home resort and you can borrow enough points to make the entire reservation, my advice would be to do that instead of the OTU points. Might mean buying OTU points for a future trip, but maybe that future trip will take place over an easier time to book at 7 months.

Yeah thanks, I knew I had to wait till the 7 month mark. We aren't too picky and we have a few options in mind so if we don't get our first choice we are fine with some of the others and right now there is lots of availability but I have a feeling that will change when race registration opens up in july. This year my mom and sister ran in the race and stayed at SSR. They didn't decide to use our points (I share them with my mom) until after the 7 month mark and had no problem getting SSR so my plan is if we can't get anything else to hope for that. Or worse case we just don't use points, pay OOP, and I take another trip next year with the unused points.

I have been debating about making a reservation at my home resort BLT. We would have enough points between our use year and borrowing from 2021 for the whole reservation there. But doing that would be more points than anywhere else we want to stay so if I then wanted to switch at 7 months I'd have an extra like 20-30 extra borrowed points for the year and nothing to use them on. And I think the whole family will probably go again in 2021 so I would like to save some points for that, although we are in constant borrowing mode so I could just borrow from 2022 again.

Also, on a sidenote it feels really weird to type 2021 and 2022.
