??? about National, NOT using EA!

We need a car at for 8 days and I just made two ressies at National: midsize, EA, $123 with Priceless code and ent. book $20 off coupon, and Fullsize for $144, priceless code and ent coupon double upgrade. (Actually, this is a triple upgrade- double upgrade from compact usually reserves a standard, not fullsize, car.) ANYHOW, because it is an upgrade coupon, I had to use counter service, which I've never done before at National. Will they let us pick any car from the full size rows, or do they assign you a vehicle? I'm not worried about avaiability (usually upgrades say 'subject to availability'); the system reserved a full sized vehicle! Kinda psyched, hoping for a PT cruiser maybe, although to categorize these as full size is a JOKE! Going to WDW in 13 days, less than 2 weeks and I'll be headed for MGM!

I had to read your message a couple of times, but I think I got it. When you go to the counter (as you have to with upgrades), you'll then be directed to go to the lot and choose your car from the aisle you have reserved. So if you choose to do the coupon and are suppose to have a full size, you need to go to the full size lane and choose your vechicle once you're done at the counter. You can not choose from EA, unless you choose to keep you EA reservation and not your upgrade/full size reservation. Did I say that right??

BTW...I'm assuming you will cancel one of your ressies prior to your arrival. I have real reservations of holding 2 ressies once you've logged in as a Emerald Club member, since they have access to your credit card, I'm always afraid they will chage me a cancellation fee if I don't cancel within the required time--a real possibility.

Since the pickings have been so bad on EA, my last trip in October and my next 2 trips in December and January, I've just booked a full size emerald reserve. often times it's only a couple of dollar more a day, and well worth the peace of mind knowing I got the size I need.

BTW--we are there the same time. We leave 2 weeks from tomorrow 11/26. It's not on my countdown since it was a last minute long weekend trip.
