I did try to search this but couldn't find an answer.

Trying to convince my DF (70) to come with us to WDW. He has mobility issues and walks with a cane...because of this he refuses to 'hold us back' from having fun and won't agree to come.

Just like other stubborn and proud folks, he won't entertain the thought of an ECV. I know he can't fathom just how many people use them and thinks he will stick out like a sore thumb.

I want to try to persuade him to use the ECV by talking numbers with him...something I think he can relate to. If I tell him about how many ECVs there are for rent and explain that they are all rented by mid-morning, he may understand that plenty of people use them and he won't be the only one.

Anyone have a general estimate of how many there are in a park for rent?

The answer to your question is: A Lot.

However, you may point out to him that most people at WDW walk between 8-12 miles per day. Once around the World Showcase Lagoon Promenade is over 1¼ miles.

You might pick a location at least a half mile from where he lives and ask her would he like to walk there. If he hesitates, then say "and back", and of he is still not sure then add "at least three times in a row".

Please ask the following questions. Here are the suggested answers to go with them.

1. Are you disabled (even temporarily)? Yes.

2. Do the people you are traveling with, such as your family, know you are disabled? Yes.

3. Do you expect to meet anyone you know during this trip who may not know you are disabled. Probably No!

4. Do you expect to meet a bunch of people who you will probably never meet again in your life? Probably yes!

5. Is there any reason at all that you should care what these people think about you? Absolutely No!!

6. Will using a wheelchair or ECV make for a better vacation for you and your family? Absolutely YES!
