About How Long For A Typical Ohana Dinner?

Our only Ohana dinner experience was last year when we checked in for our ADR about 30 minutes early, and was sat 15 minutes later (Great right! A table window with center castle view). I know that's A typical pixiedust: And while we went into MK afterwards, we had no set plans; so I kept no track of time (plus we also lingered a lot longer than we will this time). We have a 5:45p ADR on 6/7 and plan on going back into MK with another FP (or two) afterwards. My FP window opens in 6 days.

For those Ohana veterans who have a good "feel" for an estimate of how long it can typically take to get a table and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed, (we'll only eat, no lingering for games/entertainment) how long would you estimate? I have an "ok feel" (although overall suggestions are def welcome!:disrocks:) for the monorail/bag check/navigation to the ride part. It's giving enough time if we have to wait to be sat (which from the boards I know can be common there), and a meal that's not prolonged by us lingering-that has me scratching my head? :confused3

Assuming seated on time: 1:15

Thank you! I guess I'll pad some further time on top of that for "not seated on time' lol...I love being able to pre-plan ADR's and the FP+ system. But, challenging to estimate comfy timing when it all boils down to uncontrollable factors of a restaurant ha :upsidedow

We have never not had to wait past our ADR time for a table at 'Ohana. Maybe we are just unlucky, but it always seems to be running behind.

We've always made this an evening with no other park plans, so we've never really 'timed it' but I'd say we spend between an hour and an hour and a half in there...

I personally would book my fast passes for around 7.45. Giving you two hours to be seated, eat and get back into MK. Even if the restaurant is running very behind you should make to your first ride within the one hour fp time window.

Honestly with Ohana I wouldn't risk booking fp's after. With a monorail ride and then the walk back into the park, depending on what time the park closes, you could be talking more like 8:30 or 9 if you have a significant wait to be seated which is not uncommon during busy seasons. I go in the Winter time and very rarely are we seated without some sort of wait. To the extent of 45 mins late sometimes.

I think I would do a FP around 7:00. Assuming 1 hour to eat and build in a 1/2 hour for the wait, you should be out of the Poly by 7:15 which would give you 45 minutes to get into MK and to your FP. Even go with 7:15, if you think that may be a bit too tight.

Thank you guys so much!!!! The honest feedback helped me decide it's not worth cramming in a FP after dinner before the fireworks. Even when it "can" be done, I'm trying to soak up awesome DIS advice to know the difference bc "can" and "should" for my anxious brain lol. Bc I tend to get nervous when things are timed closely :scared: I'd rather mentally enjoy the night. Maybe now we will linger for the entertainment, and take our time getting fat and happy on the yummy bread pudding :P

Unless they change them, fireworks are currently scheduled for 9p (blah!) and we always like to get to the old FP area in front of Casey's about an hour before to get a comfy spot to sit/relax.

Thank you again!!:worship:

If you are planning to be in a park earlier that day, then I would for sure say not to bother with the late FP and use your pre-booked 3 FP for your day park time. If you do happen to be on your way to MK and end up having pre-firework attraction time, you can always try to snag a 4th FP on your phone on the way there.

If you aren't in a park earlier in the day and don't have any FP booked that day, then it can't hurt to just book one or two for after dinner and if you don't use them, you just don't use them. There is no penalty for that.

This is some dagum AWESOME advice and why I love being able to count on you guys! I appreciate everyone taking the time to help us when we need it!:disrocks::love:

1 hour 15 minutes is our time from seating down to walking out of the restaurant. We have been to Ohana about 15 times and always been seated within about 15 minutes of our ADR time. I guess we have always been lucky. We go do WDW in May and October.
