Has anyone ever used this glamour shot place?
I just went to get my haircut this morning, and they are going to be there next week.

For $20 my 17 year old DD will get her hair done and get makeup on, then they will take photos. (we get 1 8x10)

Does anyone know how expensive these things are?

Thanks

Lisa,
You didn't list the company name and I can't remember who my DD and I used, but we've done this a couple of times. (Once when she was in 2nd and then again when she was in 8th - we had MomDaughter ones and she also had them done by herself in 9th grade.)

We liked our photos a lot! The very first time when she was in 2nd, I had a friend who was a photographer, do them, so the price was very reasonable. The second time we had the $20.00 deal you quoted. Of course we loved the photos and had to buy some. At that time, the photographer (a different one who came to the hair salon) sold the proofs, which was a good deal. The nex year (same guy), he really raised the prices and wouldn't sell the proofs.

It's a fun experience.

Thanks Pam,

The person who I booked it through is a friend of mine.
She said don't buy anything you don't want, so I am sure it is expensive. Maybe we can just buy a sheet or two? Or do they try to sell a package?

My DD needs a moral boost right now, and I think it will be fun for her!

Thanks for the info.

DD had this done in her late teens and really enjoyed it! I don't remember the cost though.

Thanks Boots,

I don't know the name of the company...she did show me a photo of her granddaughter, when she had it done.
It was so cute! She was only 2 at the time...very little makeup, but very cute dress up!

Lisajl,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you - but I left yesterday at 4:30 for a HS football playoff game and didn't get home until 11:30, and I went right to bed.

We were able to buy a couple of sheets - prices were around $50.00 or so, I think. They were very expensive, but very nice! If you can get the proofs, that is what I would go for. They will try to push you - but if you go in with resolve and keep saying what you want and how much you can spend, I think they will want some sale, rather than no sale.

A suggestion, ask the make-up person to go EASY on the make-up, they have a tendency to really slather it on for some reason. Teens do not need to conceal wrinkles, lines, etc. and look so much more natural with less! If my scanner was working, I would scan some photo so you could see them.

Thanks so much! A friend of mine had it done and she said she felt like she should use a scraper to get the makeup off!

I appreciate the view of the cost. That helps me go in with a realistic view. I only want to get a few photos for the family.
Since we are going to WDW in Dec, it's kind of a bad time for this.
But, my daughter has had a rough year, and I think it will make her feel "special". Hopefully, it will work that way!

Thanks again....she goes in next week.
