We are thinking about buying a new gas grill. We were wondering about which brands were the best and the worst. Have just started looking so have only seen Char Broil and BBQ Pro. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I would just go to a SEARS. My father got a brand new gas/charcoal grille that is absolutely amazing... sorry, don't know the brand name of it though.

We just bought a Char Broil gas grill two weeks ago from Lowes. We absolutely love it!! We researched quite a few different ones and Char Broil had the best ratings.

We have went through char broil after char broil and none lasted very long...then we decided to spend the money and go for a Weber and it was well worth it! The burners don't go after a year or 2 like others we have had and its just really a step above all the others we have had!

I will second this. It always works great. Ignitor always works on the first try. If you buy it at Home Depot you get special grates, porceline(spelling wrong) I think, not the thin little metal ones that rust. I've had mine for at least 3 years and am so glad that I bought it.

I have been using my Gas Weber Grill for 13 years now!! Have never had a problem with it! DH and I take it apart every spring and completely clean it.
It's been a fantastic grill for the money. :thumbsup2

I have a Weber and I love it. It always seems to come out at the top of the list in Consumer Reports.

...its not BBQ! My friends think I'm nuts to take the time to light charcoal, but I think the food tastes so much better! Gas grills are just like a gas stoves except outside! There's definitely a difference in the flavor.

We have a CharBroil which we are happy with, but like the above post, I like using the charcoal grill better. Seems like the food taste better and I am so much better with cooking on them. I like to cook whole chickens on them, and that's time consuming, so it's usually swim time for DS10. We make a long afternoon of grilling.

We have a Ducane. It was expensive...around $700 I think, but is a very good grill that we have had very good luck with. We do keep it outside year round, but we do keep it covered when not in use.

There is but dh gets heartburn from charcoal so we had to switch. It took awhile but now, I don't notice a difference.

We are on our second one. The ignitor switches are always going bad. We just buy cheap and get new ones. I know alot of people swear by Ducane.

My parents have a gas/charcoal hybrid... light the charcoal with the gas, and just shut the gas off. Food cooks so much more quickly on charcoal.

If you really want to savor the flavor though, go with a wood burning stove. It takes forever to cook your food, but it tastes outstanding.
