Hi everyone. We'll be heading to DL this Sunday(1/14). The last time we went it was during the week and there was not a fantasmic show or fireworks so I have a couple ??....
1. How far ahead of time should we get there to get a decent seat? We are probably going to the 9pm showing since I'm not sure my daughter will make it till 10:30. It's a holiday weekend (MLK) so I'm sure it will be crowded.

2. I believe the fireworks start right after the show(9:25pm) so will we be able to see them from the fantasmic area? I don't really mind that we don't get a prime view of the fireworks but would like to be able to still see them.

Thanks for any and all advice!!
Natalie

So if we try to make the later fanstasmic show then how far in advance do we need to get a spot for the 9:25 fireworks?

Since its been a loooonnnnngggg while since I have last been to DL (Oct 1996) I was wondering the same thing. All of this is going to be new to us. The fireworks, DCA, DTD, all of it! So if anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

For a really good Fantasmic seat (especially if you do plan to watch the fireworks from there), you need to get your spot 2-3 hours early. Go for the center section because that will give you the best view of the fireworks and Tink (yes, in the right spot you can see Tink for ROA), nevermind putting you in the best spot for Fantasmic itself.

ROA= Rivers of America (where Fantasmic is shown).

You cannot see the fireworks from the Fantasmic area. Maybe the tip tops of them, but the trees block a lot of them. PLUS......much of the firework show is done in front of the castle (lights and mini fireworks coming off the castle).

I was just there this past weekend, and you pretty much need to be in front of the castle to see the fireworks well.

People start sitting and getting ready for Fantasmic 3 hours before showtime (1st showing at 9pm). It's MUCH better to go to the late showing. That way, you can watch fireworks at 9:20pm and when the firework show ends, head over to Fantasmic.

Fantasmic first showing will just be letting out, and you will get good seats.

I've made the mistake several times of getting to Fantasmic even an hour before showtime (early show) and not being able to see. You really need to be front and center to get the full effect (IMO).

Have FUN!

While it's true you won't get all the special effects of the fireworks show, you will still see most of the fireworks. If you just want to see the blasts in the air and are not particular about seeing the projections and special effects on the castle, then you'll be fine watching from the Fantasmic area.

And yes, 3 hours ahead of time is required to get a good spot front and center for the show. But we actually prefer watching from the area closer to Haunted Mansion. We can show up there about 1 hour prior and get a good spot. There is a water projection screen over here, so you still see everything and your not nose to nose with everyone since it's less crowded.

I actually see more of what's shot off from behind Toontown (where the vast majority of the blasts are) from the Fantasmic area than I do when I'm in front of the castle. And if we're talking about Remember, the ROA has it's own special effects for the show.
