I am curious about the new attraction, "Expedition Everest". I know it's located in Disney's Animal Kingdom in the Asia section, but it's not shown on any maps. Also, I'm unable to find any photos or drawings of the Yeti.

What maps did you see? This is Animal Kingdom's biggest and most popular attraction at the moment. It is a roller coaster in the Everest mountain. The yeti pops up here and there. I personally didn't like how they did the yeti, but enjoyed the ride.

Well, its located between Asia and Dinoland.

To get there the fastest from the front of DAK, enter Asia and follow to the right. (You can't miss it!) :thumbsup2

As to photos and the like, I just went to Google and there are hundreds of listings.

I will not be the "spoiler" here (but I'll bet there will be plenty of others). :goodvibes

Can you explain more about why?

Well, I have always thought of yetis as being more white than brown. I had pictured him differently. Also, I would have liked to see more of the yeti. You only see him and his shadow one time each. The ride was fun though, except for the part where you can see the whole WDW property-it took away from the mountain feel.

I never saw a yeti. Rode it once last week...I think it was down more than going. We went first thing when we arrived and it wasn't opened. got a fast pass, rode it and the next ride it was down again. Came back later in the afternoon and it was down again. My kids would have like to ride it again. Once was enough for me and DH.

I always pictured yetis to be white too, like in the movie Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. :teeth: But this one is still really awesome looking!!

I only got to ride it once the last time my family and I went to WDW, and I was too focused on the climb, and I didn't look over to the left to see the other parks. :sad2: But this trip, I am. Hopefully I can ride it more than once! Hopefully it won't be too busy!

I understand there's a big ball in front of Epcot, did you see THAT?

I agree with the above poster who was dissapointed with the Yeti. I was expecting it to be bigger, but even worse it was brown, and uh..the mountain is brown, so when you put a brown Yeti up against a brown mountain wall, in the dark, at high speeds, you can barely even see it. All I saw was what looked like an oversized arm stretching out. It reminded me of Nightmare on Elm Street 1 when Freddy is walking down that ally with his arms outstretched. But seriously folks...

There are apparently TWO kinds of lighting used in the "Yeti Scene".

1) Normal. It is used when the Animatronics of the Yeti are working correctly and the lighting in that cavern is VERY BRIGHT... you can see Mr. Yeti quite well.

2) Low. It is used when there might be problems with the mechanical workings of our Big Boy (I assume its a BOY) and the lighting is kept very LOW so as to disguise the lack of motion.

Though the yeti dissapointed me, I could see the yeti very well, and I admit that he did have a relatively wide range of motion. I must have seen the normal lights.

I only saw the Yeti's arm the first time, but that was because I had my eye's closed. Then next two times I could see him very well. I thought the Yeti was great. If I recall correctly the abominable snowman on the matterhorn at Disneyland is white, but not as cool as the Yeti at AK.
