We are planning on using DME in October. We've used it in the past, but it's been about 5 years since the last time. My question is, we are supposed to land at 4:20 pm, staying at the Beach Club, and have dining reservations in Italy at EPCOT at 7:00pm.

Do you think we can make that dining reservation? Any help would be appreciated - originally we were supposed to land at 2:30, but I just received notification that our arrival time had changed!

Thanks :)

Maybe. If your flight lands, ontime, at 4:20pm, you will be at your gate, headed to the tram by 4:30ish, maybe a wee bit later. So, start your time figuring on 4:30. Plan on it taking at least 70 mins, but more like 85 mins to get to your resort from the gate.
So, that puts you arriving at BC by close to 6pm. Get checked in, go to your room, freshen up, and out the door by 6:40ish. It takes about 10-15 mins to get to Italy from there.
So, it will be tight. If you just drop your carryon bags quickly in your room, freshen up quickly, and go right to Epcot, you may very well make it.

There might be a line to check in. Do you need to check in before dining? In other words do you have the dining plan and/or will you be getting your park tickets when you check in.

Yes, we'll need to check in. We have the Dining Plan.

I would move the ADR. Actually, I wouldn't make an ADR for arrival night at all - there are just too many things that can go wrong during travel. If you really want an ADR for arrival night, I wouldn't make it for anytime earlier than 8:30. IMO, having to rush to get to an ADR is not a great way to start a trip.

Normally, I'd totally agree. But, it's our 15th Wedding anniversary, and my husband really wants to go out that night.

Were there any earlier flights you could have hand picked and requested a rechange to, after the airline changed yours?

In a borderline situation you could leave the carryons with the bellhop and walk directly to Epcot after check in at Beach Club. That would make up some time.

This isn't a dinner show with a set time. It's not the end of the world if you're a few minutes late. Just make sure there won't be an issue with cancellation fees.

I would make the reservation for between 8:00 and 8:30 so that you don't have to rush around, worry or constantly check your watch. If you get to Epcot a little early you can either walk around and unwind after the flight and resort check in. Or head straight to the restaurant and see if they'll seat you early.
