? about booking AAA rates

We are planning a mom & dad weekend trip in January. We would like to stay at POP. We have AAA and APs. Unfortunately we missed the 60 day deadline for BRP. I spoke with a CM who quoted me a standard room at $79 or a preferred room with AAA at $72. The AAA website has a standard room at $62. What is the difference between booking on the AAA website or with a Disney CM? Why does the web show a AAA rate for standard rooms but on the phone I was only given the option of a AAA rate on a preferred room? Are there any disadvantages to booking through the AAA website? We would like to do this trip as inexpensively as possible so we don't need the preferred room over a standard room. Thanks for any information.

I have always booked through CRO, not AAA. Just call Disney and tell them you want to book a standard room at POP and have AAA.
