? about Armed Forces Salute Tickets

We went to SeaWorld in May without my DH and had no problems. Just show your ID and you will be fine.

I called Disney about this myself a few days ago. My husband is planning on going with us to Disney World but due to the fact that he is still in the military anything can happen. The CM told me that the service member OR spouse could activate the tickets as long as proper id was shown.

Regarding SeaWorld passes - we were able to take advantage of this in years past - but since then DH has retired. SeaWorld stated that these passes are NOT valid for retired military. Bummer......................:sad1:
But we are still VERY grateful for WDW offer!

We just got our Salute to the Troops tickets and are going to use them in May. The girl at ITT on base told me today that Universal now has a Free Ticket for the Military Person and the family ticket is $89 and they are good for 7 days. I did forget to mention we are retirees (AF) because the WDW ticket included retirees,. I will have to double check on aspect.

By the way, my husbands ticket to WDW included park hopper and water parks, so we upgraded mine to include both also. It cost $149 for mine. so we got 10 days (total) at Disney with park hopper and water parks for
$149. We really feel lucky.

I just called ITT back and they said the free ticket to Sea World is only for active duty, retirees are not included. But WDW and Universal include us in the great deal.

The tickets for WDW have to be activated by the military person according to the girl at ITT, you might want check with your local ITT, but she said it had to be the military person who activates it.

Hope this helps.

How is it 10 days total?

Hi,

It is 5 days for my husband and 5 days for me, Ten days worth of tickets for $149.00 total price.

Yes, I fully realize that each ticket is only good for 5 days, but if I had to buy the tickets from disney I would be buying 10 days worth of tickets, 5 days for my husband and 5 days for me and the total prices would have been almost $600 for both our sets of tickets. I am just thrilled that us retirees are included, usually we are not. My husband spent 22 years in the AF and it is nice when that is recognized.

I wanted to be able to get this deal for the 5 of us, but father is unable to go and be there to activate all the tickets, he can purchase them here at the base I think, just unable to go himself. :(

Hi,

ITT at Dover AFB says the military sponsor must be there to activate the tickets, but someone posted a message that Disney said it could be the spouse also. Try calling Disney and asking them what their policy is.

I was able to purchase tickets at the window at Magic Kingdom in January.... with my dependent ID card... I have the tickets in my wallet!

Disneymotherof3; just a note, PegIra does have 10 days worth of tix in the sense that they purchased the 5 day base ticket with park hopper and water park fun and more options. The Water Parks fun N more option is good for an additonal 5 days. So they have 5 park days and 5 days to do water parks and Disney Quest. Not sure if I am writing that to sound like it makes sense. That ends up being what it boils down to. Whenever you add the Water Park Fun N More option, you get 5 days worth of those options added on to your base ticket. I still have non-expiration tix for this option that have days left on them as we used all the theme park days but not the water parks/Disney Quest days on them and they do not expire as we had the no-expiration placed on our tickets when we bought them.

Megkel thanks for calling Disney about this. I was confused because when I called to book our trip they also told me that as the dependent spouse, I can activate the tickets. I appreciate the clarification.

I have a question--
My father is in the National Guard, he is NOT activated now so he does NOT qualify for the free/$99 ticket. My question is does anyone know if they have any discounts for this case. I thought I had read somewhere that it was somewhere around the $200 mark, but I can't find it. Anyone, help?
