? about Akershus Princess Dining

I again support the ebay idea, I buy tons of stuff there really cheap.

However, I also wouldn't worry about the girls not being in costume. We were there in Feb of this year and my DD5 (at the time) just wore a pretty pink skirt and top. She wore her Belle dress to CRT and complained the whole time about being hot and it itching.

I think your girls will just be so in awe of seeing the Princesses that it won't matter that they are not in costume. I think your idea of Tshirts with their favourite princesses would be nice and you could even personalise them. The main thing to them at that age is they are at WDW. Come to think of it thats all that matters at any age! :)

I cannot believe that the princesses make a bigger fuss over girls in costumes than those who are not! How unfair is that!!

My daughter will be in jeans and a t-shirt, and I expect my niece and nephew will be too.

My eldest is not a dress girl at all, so she wears normal summer clothes, even at Disney (thank goodness ;)). She still has a great time at character meals and is not the only girl not all dolled up.

We're doing Akershus in about 2 weeks and she'll likely be in a T-shirt & sporty skort with sweaty hair for her pics, because I'll forget to bring a comb to the parks. And my youngest will probably spill something dirty or her diaper will leak before we ever get to dinner. This is just how our life goes.:rotfl:

Honestly, I think us moms make more out of this than the kids do most of the time.

My DDs have never worn princess gear and have NEVER felt slighted by any of the characters at any of the meals, meet-n-greets, etc.

What day are you going? We'll be having a late breakfast there on October 8, and my two girls will not be in princess dresses. One of them is older (12), but the 6yo won't be in one, either.

When we were at Akershus in September 2005, it was probably 50/50. My older one didn't wear one, but the younger one did. I think the princesses take their cues from the kids. Even then, the older one (7 at the time) wasn't really into the princesses, so they fussed over my little one more, but not because she had a dress on.
