? about adr and staying off site

can you make adr's when you are staying offsite? if so how far in advance. Also can you recommend places to eat on christmas day.

ANYONE can make ADRs 180 days in advance.

Reservations are available 180 days out and 180 days + 10 for guests staying at a Disney Resort.. (This extra 10 days allows Disney Resort guests to book all of their ADRs on the same phone call as opposed to calling back each day as the 180 day mark passes) Be aware of the 180 mark and make your ADRs.


The above states the only difference is that if you're off site, you have to call back for each day of your stay, whereas if you were on site, you could make all of the reservations on the same day.

If I were staying offsite, I'd look for a resort restaurant for my Christmas meal. The parks (particularly MK) can become so packed on Christmas day that they close, and you won't get in even with an ADR.

One of the early stages of closing is to deny entry to offsite guests, so your chances of being locked out of some of the parks is greater than guests that are staying onsite. If your Christmas meal is at a resort, you won't have to worry about this at all.

There are the four stages of park closings, as provided by the DIS' own Cheshire Figment:

There are four stages to park closing:

Stage 1 - The parking lot entrance is closed. You can only access the park if you are using Disney Transportation.

Stage 2 - The ticket windows are all closed (and the automated Ticket Vending Machines are turned off). Unless you already have a ticket you cannot get in.

Stage 3 - Only people with Annual Passes or current Resort IDs will be allowed in.

Stage 4 - Nobody is allowed in.

Note - having restaurant reservations in a park, even with written proof, will not override a stage closing for you.

Hi!

We spent Christmas week 2007 in WDW.

I let my kids choose where we would have our Christmas meals.
They picked character meals, so we ended up with:
Christmas breakfast: 'Ohana (Lilo & Stitch)
Christmas dinner: Chef Mickey (Mickey & the gang)

Do you have kids? They would probably love some character meals.

I don't think that would be a problem for people who get to the park early and stay there. Don't leave for a mid day break.

yes we have kids so something character or themed is what i am looking for. We have been at christmas time but the week before things get crazy. I would love to do the castle but I know that would be hard to get,also I want to avoid MK on christmas day. We usually stay onsite but I want to save some money with lodging.
