? about accessable rooms-? dues

I will be at WDW in December and would like to take a DVC tour. We would need a accessable 2br. Will the guide show me a accessable room if I ask? How much are yearly dues. If its figured on points i'm considering about 400. One more ?, If i were to get enough points for 2 weeks if I choose to go for one week but other family are coming along can I get 2 rooms for 1 week with my points? Susan

Not sure if I can help much, but here goes...
Check the DVC FAQ's, at the top of this page, pretty basic info, but it'll get you started. Dues for points range from $3-4 perpoint yearly, so owning at SSR with 400 points would approx imately be high end $1600...living in Michigan, I'm not sure if you can call DVC today and request an info packet to be sent to you before you go, someone else would be able to speak to that.

As far as what the guides can show you, the sales office would show you the models of SSR...always ask, and again someone else here may be able to assist more than I

The great thing about DVC being a points program is that you can make reservations for what accomodations best suit and yours. If you want a studio for two weeks, 1bdr for 1 wk, 2bdr or whatever the combinations may be, whether you are there or not, the flexibilty is built in - of course, depending on availability...

Hi,

I am in a wheelcair myself. You'll love DVC. I am not sure about showing you an accessible room but you can ask. I do know that 20% of all Disney resorts should/are accessible. If you become a member making reservations are so easy. Tell them what you need, they will put you on hold & call to make sure that there is an accessible room available for your timeframe & you're all set. I've made two reservations so far with no problem & no waitlist yet. If you have any questions about accessibilty please ask. Disney is great about it. They are so nice to me & mom is unbelevible. I am sure A guide would be happy to show you anything you want. We found this to be true when we were looking. I know they will bend over backwards for disabled guests. We met a couple awhile back where both parents were blind, and they had guide dogs. They own at OKW and always have a sighted guide accompany them to the parks. They also had a sighted son with them. When we met them, they were walking along the dock at Hospitality House and wanted to take the pontoon over to DTD. We helped them and their dogs board with us. WE had wanted to just ride over to the DTD dock and back, but this is usually forbidden. Because of the blind folks on board, they let us all have a round trip! They said OKW handicapped facilities were wonderful for them.

Hilton Head - $3.69
Beach Club Villas - $3.97
Wilderness Lodge - $4.05

Dues..........
Each resort has different types of maintence issues to pay for. For example VB +BCV has lifeguards.....OKW doesn't.

If you need a guide for your tour, our guide is Marc Turner. Very professional,no pressure,returns calls promptly,etc. We have been members for 5 years, and 4 of my brothers and sisters also have Marc as there guide and are very satisfied with him.

Whether they can show you an accessible room depends on whether they have one empty at the time or not.
We have been members at OKW for over 10 years. DH and I were staying at BCV this July and took a tour at BWV because we wanted some info about BCV and Saratoga (which was not quite for sale yet). We asked the sales office CMs if we could see an accessible room. They told us to check with the front desk to see if any were empty and then the front desk CMs could do a tour for us. We didn't end up seeing one because none were empty.
