About 32 hours in Orlando...what would you do?

We end a Disney cruise on Sunday morning and have that night reserved at the Holiday Inn at Universal (free with our reward points). We fly out Monday at 8 p.m.

I was thinking of going to Universal Studios (not I of A) for that first day and then doing Downtown Disney the second day.

We'll rent a car to get from Port Canaveral to Orlando and it seems like we'll need a car to get to DD and the airport so we'll probably have a car the whole time.

Does the Universal/DD sound like a good plan? or would you do something else? We want something fun for the kids to help combat the post-cruise let down. Only one of them (DS 18) has ever been to WDW but we figured the time frame we have is too short to try to attempt any of those parks?

thanks for any ideas or info you can give :)

Animal Kingdom is a great one day park. It has loads to do if you take it as the park intended, and that is slowly, enjoying the many details of the place.

I think I'd do that.

I'm not a huge US/IOA fan, so keep that in mind.

I would spend parts of both days at the Universal parks, and go to Downtown Disney late afternoon/evening of Sunday. The added cost of a 2 day/2 park ticket at Universal is not that much more than a 1 day ticket, especially if buy on-line before your trip.

thanks for the ideas.

Is it true I can buy tickets to typhoon lagoon without visiting another Disney park? If so we might do that instead of Universal.

Yes - you can buy those tickets to Disney waterparks separately, either on-line or at the gate. I believe the cost is $ 45 for adults and $ 39 for children, plus tax.

Universal or IOA would be fantastic. IOA for the older teen crowd is definately a good place to be. Since you will be right there, I would do both parks. Good ticket prices, buy the front of the line access passes and have a great time.

Skip DTD, nothing there.
