Sorry I put the wrong title.
Hi:
We are driving home mid-April from FL to MA with our dog. We are changing our overnight stops from the ones we did on the way down. We are staying at a La Quinta in Florence SC the first night and I have read good reviews about Florence on the Disboards so I am comfortable with that choice. The second night we are staying at a Red Roof in Albedeen. I haven't found much on Albedeen so I just wanted some info on the area, i.e., is it a safe area. With the dog we are limited to where we can stay. We will be stopping just for the night and just need to get dinner and be safe. Any help would be great.
Thank you.

Aberdeen, MD? We live about 15 min from there in Bel Air. Aberdeen has a few sketchy areas, but if you're just staying right off 95 you'll be fine. There's quite a few hotels and restaurants right there.

Edited to add: I'm pretty sure the red roof inn is very close to the Ripken baseball complex.... Lots of people stay in that area for events and tournaments at the stadiums and it's considered a "safe" area.

The hotel by Ripken stadium is a Marriott owned (DD worked there). Red Roof Inn is up on RT 22 right next to Beards Hill shopping ctr. Not the cleanest hotel. I would not stay there. It doesn't attract the better business clientele.
I would stay one exit away. This is a super nice, super clean, safe hotel that allows pets.
A lot of the teams that come to town for Ripken stadium events stay here if they can't get into the hotel next to the stadium. The motels over on 22 can be sketchy....other than the Holiday Inn. Most will will stay one exit away. It's not far.

Thanks you for the replies. I will definitely check out the homewood suites.
