Oh! I didn't think of Nashville. That actually makes sense...Our guide suggested Nashville, TN was a new tour coming up....that's where my bet is.
Nashville definitely sounds more interesting than Texas to me, but I'm not sure either will make my "must do" ABD list. sayhello, any insight into ABD's recent pattern of releasing new itineraries off cycle (i.e., Norway last summer and now this new itinerary)? It seems odd when a lot of hard-core ABDers would have booked in May when itineraries were released.
No insight at the moment. It's definitely a different business model for them. I'll see if I can get any insight from my contacts, and I'll let you know!Nashville definitely sounds more interesting than Texas to me, but I'm not sure either will make my "must do" ABD list. sayhello, any insight into ABD's recent pattern of releasing new itineraries off cycle (i.e., Norway last summer and now this new itinerary)? Sometimes, deals are struck off cycle and new itineraries seem to "just come together".
This also may be testing the waters before committing to a full season with guides, hotels and attractions.
The Norway Adventure received a huge boost from Frozen.
Maybe there is a country music film in the works.![]()
I live in TX and have visited Nashville several time and neither sounds interesting to me. Both are extremely easy and relatively inexpensive to do well on your own. I commend them for trying to expand their market and try some more weekend trips, but this doesn't appeal to me. I guess I should withhold judgement until I see the itinerary.
It is odd they're releasing these mid season. I can't figure that one out.
A lot of really interesting options, Mike. I know as a visitor to San Antonio, I really loved the Alamo & the Riverwalk (especially at night). But not in the summer!I think a Texas Adventure(or Nashville) would be inticing to Foreign adventurerers. I would find no value in a Texas or Tennessee Trip for me.
Texas is so big, that the trip would have to be isolated to a smaller geographic region. San Antonio > Houston > Austin.
With these locations of interest...
SA
- Alamo and Missions of San Antonio (I see a Davy Crockett tie-in)
- River Walk
- Authentic Mexican Food
- Natural Bridge Caverns
- Make Tamales
- Shiner, TX for the Shiner brewery
Houston
- San Jacinto Monument and Battleship Texas
- Galveston Historic tour
- Offshore Oil Musem
- Space Center Houston (Designed by WDI)
- Take in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (if here in March)
Austin/Hill Country
- Taveling to Austin, stop at the Blue Bell Creamerey
- Texas State Capital
- The Salt Lick in Driftwood
- LBJ Ranch and Texas Whitehouse in Stonewall (This is really cool)
- National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg (yes, Fredericksburg, there is no ocean even close to it and yet there is a submarine there)
- Winery tour
Just scratching the surface...
Where do you see that?...well the photo is labeled "nashville-teaser" so I think I know what I'm putting my money on...![]()
