ABD Backstage Magic 4/17 - 4/22/11

I'm glad that there are people that like the idea of chatting in a weekend.

I think that a Sunday would be the most convinient day to have a chat.
And for us it's most convinient if it wouldn't start later then 3-4pm because that's already 9-10pm here;)

Please let me know what day or time is handy for y'all!!!

I like the idea of 12 or 1 Eastern Standard time, but anytime is fine.

That's a little early for us because we don't get home from church until after 11 central time and then we eat lunch. But any time after 3PM eastern/2PM central works best for us on Sundays - especially since there is no football on this time of year! :)

Just let me know what day/time and I will try to attend chat.

Mark

I was just told that my package arrived!!! I am so excited, but won't be home for another 2.5 - 3 hours!

YAY! We got THE box today! We're not opening it though until Steph comes home from school. But we captured the moment as our first photo for our ABD trip scrapbook! :thumbsup2

Hi Folks,

While The ABD chat room is always available, unfortunately, I am not.

You are welcome to use the ABD chat room whenever you'd like.

As you can see by the last few posts, finding the perfect time for everyone will be almost impossible.

I will continue to run the scheduled ABD chat at 8pm on Thursday night.

It's then that I'll be available to answer questions.

If you have specific questions and can not attend the scheduled chat, please feel free to email me at Kevin@DreamsUnlimitedTravel.com.

Thanks,
Kevin

I just got my box!! But after so many excited posts I was actually kind of let down lol. I guess I built it up to be so much more! But still excited that it's here and that we are going soon!!!

I am game for a chat on the weekends as well! Thursdays are prime TV time for me haha! But I'd love to talk with everyone!! Really looking forward to this trip and spending time getting to know everyone. I need a Disney fix!!!!

I also got my box today. :cool1:

Sunday chat works out better for me also. I have a class on Thursday nights and won't be able to get on chat until about 6:30 PST. I am not sure how late everyone stays on chat. Is anyone still on around 9:30 EST?

Mark,
We were looking over the itinerary that came today. Becky and I are going to pass on dinner at Napa Rose because we'll likely still be full from the breakfast and lunch planned for that day. We really enjoyed Napa Rose last time we went, so we're bummed to miss it, but don't think we'd be able to do it this time.

Hi all,

Napa Rose update.

I have a reservation for up to 20 for Wednesday, April 20. that I will leave keep in place for the time being.

I think, once we all are together (maybe sooner), I will see if there is interest in this reservation or if we want to do something else as a group. I'm game for whatever the group wants to do. I would have no problems cancelling this reservation.

Thanks for understanding - Jeff and I reviewed the itinerary booklet we got and realized we'll be eating our way through Disneyland that day! :rotfl: But we talked about it thought that maybe we (Jeff and I) might do the Napa Rose Lounge later or some of the other DD bars after the fireworks and perhaps meet up with the group later then.

:cool1:I got my box yesterday! I can't wait. I'd love to do a chat on the weekend as well. I don't usually get home in time on Thursdays.

Can't wait to meet you all.

Missed the chat, I was out with the gals tonight :) - Jeff was on though.

So, yesterday, I ordered some T-shirts for the Jim Henson part of our tour. Disneystore.com has personalized T-shirts and we chose some Muppet characters for our attire that day! I'll keep the characters a surprise until we get there. I had to buy Stephanie's elsewhere - but it was exactly what she was looking for.

So what else do I need to do to prepare for this trip? Other than buying Muppet T-shirts?:goodvibes Any other thoughts for preparation 6 weeks out? (Woo hoo 6 weeks away!!!)

Jeff,

I didn't get to join chat until 8:45 and only a couple of people were on at that time. Were there more people from out trip on earlier? I just watched, because I didn't know what to say.

I was looking at the crowd calender for our April trip and because it is EASTER WEEK every day is a 10 level crowd at the parks. Anyone that has already been on the ABD trip or has been there during a holiday, how does it compare to the World? I have been to Disney World during Easter a couple of years ago and while it was not the easiest to get around it was still manageable if you got up early enough and then came back later in the evening. I know during our free time they hand out some fastpasses, but I am just curious as to whether or not we will feel like sardines or still be able to enjoy our free time.

Last April's ABD took place the middle of the month, but was not Easter Week. However, since it was a traditional Spring Break week, the crowds were big. The fastpasses were very helpful, we received five per person on day four (Disneyland) and day five (California Adventure). Speaking for myself, I found it to be enjoyable even though it was very crowded. We were back doored on so many attractions (I don't want to say which ones because I don't want to give anything away:)), that in my free time I was able to easily pick and choose what I wanted to use my fastpasses on because we had already seen so much as a group.

I found that when I was on my own time and the crowds got to be too much, I would leave and go back Grand Californian to relax (just sitting in the lobby is a great way to decompress) or go over to Downtown Disney to have a snack or a meal before going back into the parks.

I hope this helps!
