ABD Backstage Magic 4/17 - 4/22/11

Thanks for the link. Doesn't really look like my thing either but I will probably go see it. My biggest regret from last trip was not watching a movie in that theatre. Once we did the tour I fell in love with it--I had no idea how amazing it is!

Hi Tracey !

We feel the same way, we did not see a movie last trip, and regreted it afterwards.

We get "Gnomeo and Juliet" during our trip, not our first choice but I booked advanced tickets for for our first full night on DIS/ABD February.

Hope you have a great time!

Frank and Cathy

Hi all,

I'll keep track of it here. Even though I asked previously asked... and maybe I should try and find the initial post. Let me ask everyone again. Yes, No or not sure yet. We understand that this may not fit into everyones plans.

I'll be happy to make the reservations for the group.

Mark

UPDATE: We have a reservation for 5:30PM at Napa Rose on Wednesday 4/20/2011 for up to 20 people. I had two choice for their large table 5:30PM or 8:30PM - Napa Rose direct phone number is 714-300-7170 (not part of the World of Color Dining Packages). I just need to call shortly before the trip and give them a number update.

Becky & Jeff - Yes
Melissa & Shawn - maybe
DeAnn - Yes

I updated this based on post from pages 48 & 49... If your plans have changed just let me know and I will make the revisions. Thanks everyone. Mark

Mark,

I have been looking over the menus for Napa Rose and Steakhouse 55, I think that I prefer Steakhouse 55. Since I will only have the one free night, please take Shawn and I off the list for Napa Rose. I appreciate the invite but I am just more of a steak gal! :thanks:

Hi Melissa,

No Problem... I love Steak too. That is one of the reasons I'm considering Steakhouse 55 for Friday night. Who knows if I will every get back here and I'm would like to do both... but I'm more willing to wing Friday night in case we need more time in one of the parks.

See you soon,

Mark

Unfortunately, we have to leave around 5:30 for the airport Friday night:sad:

What and when is ABD chat?:confused3

I watched the Abd chat for a while tonight and found out that our trip sold out. On Kevin's list there are 20 of us plus the dis crew.

Kevin's List consists of people that asked to be added to the list.

I dont add anyone without their permission.

Does that mean 12 people are not Disers? It seems as if the first trip and your Feb trip are all Disers. Do you think it will affect the dynamic of the group? Just curious.

We'll probably have more of the "getting to you know" on the first day. But me and DH are still Diser Wannabes anyway :)

In other news -- perhaps this is a bit weird, but I'll throw it out there. I'm trying to lose another 5-10 pounds before this trip. Anyone else have similar goals? I'm heading over to the elliptical to burn off this donut I ate for breafast in about 10 minutes. So this weight lost plan is also tied to another issue: Buying clothes for this trip. We're going to buy our spring clothes the week before this trip. Any tips on what to buy? I know there isn't a "dress code" for the trip, but what is the typical attire? I was thinking capris and cardigans? It's probably too cool to wear sundresses yet, don't you think? I also have to wear tennis shoes to walk around as my foot hurts if I wear the wrong shoes - so please forgive any shoe fashion faux pas I commit during this trip! :lmao: I also figure we'll need 1 or 2 nice dinner outfits? I won't wear my sneakers to Napa Rose, I promise ;)

This Adventure is exclusive to the Dis.

Everyone booked is a Diser.

On the last April trip, there were several people that didnt / dont post regularly.

Hi Becky,

On last April's trip I found that I needed to wear a windbreaker each morning as it was a little chilly, but usually by the afternoon I could take it off and leave it on the bus. Everyone more or less wore casual clothes throughout the trip, I think comfort is really the key with all of the touring that we will be doing. Personally I wore jeans, a t-shirt and sneakers most of the time, and for dinner I would usually wear a shirt with some type of a collar.

You are not wannabes, I was just curious how it would work if there was people on our tour that were not aware of the podcast.

Kevin, do you know approx what time we will be on our own on the 18th our free night in LA?

I dont know this information.

It will depend on how long each stop that day takes.

The February trip recently found out that the first two days schedules have changed.

Jimmy Kimmel has decided to not record that week and his studio will be closed.

The February folks will be taking a guided tour of Hollywood and the Stars homes instead and Henson Studios was moved to the next day to accommodate the change.

The ABD schedule is fluid and can change without notice.
