Anyone else planning a trip to WDW before our ABD, besides the Podcast cruise?

I will be down at WDW just for one night 10/22-23. I've never been to MNSSHP or stayed in one of the resorts before , so we are doing the party, staying AKL savannah view, then doing food & wine.

Incidently, I will me making my first trip to DLR in december on a trip I've been planning for years...so thankfully when that's over, I won't have too wait too long to go back

Mind you, both of those trips are with folks significantly less disney-inclined than I am, so I am really looking forward to travelling with all of you!!

WDW Nov 6-7 for the next Olszewski release.

events this year as I have in the past.

We won't be at WDW before the ABD trip. My husband's job does not allow him to travel from July through January. I would feel bad taking our daughter without him. But we will be at WDW less than 2 weeks after I return from ABD.

Tonight was the EC Conference online draft for the Dis Unplugged Fantasy Football league. I think we all made it through with only a few tears. I think they are going to expand the league to three conferences next season. If anyone is interested in playing Fantasy Football at all you should check it out. We all have a good time.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend. The weather here in North Central Texas is beautiful. We had some heavy rains come through Wednesday night and Thursday morning. It seems to have cleared out the humidity and brought a break to the 100 degree temps. We haven't hit 90 degrees since Wednesday. Cool enough today to open the house. I'm sure we will see 100 degrees a few more time before Fall but at least the weekend is lovely.

I don't know if anyone mentioned the fact yet that our Backstage Adventure starts one week to the day before the Oscar Awards are to be broadcasted.


Should make the Hollywood part of our trip a little more interesting....

I mentioned that to my husband the other day. Since our hotel is right next to the theater they hold the awards at I was wondering if we might get to see any of the big golden statutes they put up outside. Should be interesting. I love the Oscars!

I'm sure this was covered in a podcast before the trips earlier this year and I'm just not remembering. Could someone remind which show, if there was one, that talked about the ABD trips and how arrival at the airport would be handled? I remember they did a show like this for the Cruise.

My question is when we arrive do we get our own bags? Does ABD grab them? If ABD grabs them, does a tag come in the mail to put on your bag? Where will the driver meet us? Do we tip the driver?

I think that is all the questions I have.

I'm hesitant to answer questions like this on the boards, because everyone's arrival could be a different scenario and I dont want anyone to get incorrect information.

Typically, on arrival, you retrieve your own bags and meet the person holding the ABD sign.

You do not need to tip the driver. All tips are included except the Adventure Guides.

Please keep in mind that depending on your particular arrival plans, these details can be very different.

Thanks, Frank! I am now officially beyond excited to get on my way! We've got some fantastic meets planned, and cold grey weather descended on Seattle this weekend so I can't wait to get to some authentic summer weather.

Have fun anticipating your time of delicious touring in October!

We will be in WDW Oct 9-13 and January 7-14.
We may go in a few days earlier in January for the half marathon, but not sure yet. Hopefully finalizing next week.

It looks like I will be in Orlando that same weekend, not 100% but pretty sure. Oct. 15th is my BDay and I want to visit Food and Wine, and maybe Mexico's Cava del tequila...
