ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

You know, you are pushing 200+ pages. This just be the longest TR ever- you should win some kind of award or something. :lmao::lmao:

What Tim said.

We, the reader's of this here TR, do lovingly bestow upon you Liesa, the Herman Melville award for distinction in palaverous postings. And while Melville managed to turn every sentence into a paragraph, you have turned a trip into a journey and it has been a joy to be your traveling companion.

Hi everyone! I haven't kept up very well lately. I know there's so many believers here, I just had to share - DDIL's little brother Jordan fell from a 3 story roof on Sunday and was life flighted out of here in critical condition on life support, reports of bleeding on the brain - People from our church heard it on the scanner and had him on the prayer chain before we even knew who he was. Anyway, here is Lindsay's post on Facebook from Last Night:

Are yall ready to hear how AWESOME our GOD is?!?! Jordan was relieved from his sedation today and woke up, completely coherent!!!!!!!!!!! NO brain damage, memory loss.. NOTHING! How do you fall on your head from a 3 story house and GO WALKING AROUND THE HOSPITAL 2 days later, making jokes, and thanking the people around you?? How do you have broken wrist, a chest tube, broken ribs and a sliced liver and NOT BE ON PAIN MEDS? I'll tell you.... GOD. GOD IS GOOD! Thank you to all who prayed without ceasing! We are truly gratefull.

Hi Rosie!!

Great to see you here!

Hey ALL!!

I know I've had another spell of being checked out... but THE ball of the year is in 2 weeks and we have yet to finish the most ambitious projects we've EVER done!! Our gowns are turning out to be stunning, very complex pieces of art, but are taking HUGE amounts of time. Every spare moment is going to getting these done! So until after the 19th, I"ll be wrapped up with that. Of course, there's always studying to get done as well. Only 4 weeks left in this term, and boy am I ready to be done with that as well!!

Hopefully, I can get an update up MAYBE on Thursday; meantime, I'll try to pop in and out of your threads as well! :goodvibes I miss you all!!

Have a great time getting ready for the ball - I think that is part of the fun for you! Congrats on your great test scores!:woohoo: Don't stress too much, we'll be here waiting for you! popcorn::

Just checking in Liesa! All caught up; thank goodness you've been too busy to post much so I wasn't that far behind! Since we have chatted on FB, and I can usually keep up with your busy life there, I didn't feel that far behind anyway. Lot's of comments (like the Mayoral playoral) but so many have already said the same things I was thinking, I will just leave them alone. Still, so good to be caught up and congrats on everything going on with you and your family (Bek, midterms, etc.)

Hi Liesa!!I am reading along , keeping busy as always and Dissing whenever I can!!!
Yeah Rosie, you seem to find plenty of time for "dissing" me....... :guilty: Of course Kathy and Molly help you whenever they can. Just remember to watch over your shoulder....you never know who may come walking up! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the praise report Tammie! So glad this young man was chosen to be walking proof that God is still in control! :goodvibes

That is wonderful news about Jordan !!A blessed testament to the power of prayer !!!:cloud9:

I knew you peeps would celebrate with me! God is good. All the time. Jordan is expected to go home tomorrow - just a little sleepy so they wanted to watch him one more day. Please remember him in your prayers as he still has some healing to do!

Also, if you haven't seen on Facebook, Camille' s mom is battling breast cancer that has spread to other parts of her body - some scans still coming - she is starting Chemo an could use our prayers for healing and strength! Thanks buds!

Awwww. Thank you Tammie. I just haven't had time to get on here and ask for prayer. The apts. with my mom have been pretty much non stop since we found out. I pray her scans come out clean this week. My mom's spirit's are up and not negative, and I plan on doing everything in my power to keep them that way. Breast cancer is recoverable, the one in her lung (if it is indeed cancer) may not be if it can't be resected with surgery. But I'm hoping in the Lord it's scarring and nothing more....if not I'm believing for total healing! :)

In the mean time, Liesa has asked for me to post here letting you all know she couldn't get on today because she has a sick hubby home with a bad back and has a lot going on with the mom of the young man Bek is seeing. She's trying to mend fences and bring closure to the headaches that have resulted due to the two wanting to be together. Also, please pray this same young man makes the right decision about joining the military as well as his mothers heart being open to what Liesa is trying to accomplish. :)

I hope y'all are well, I miss everyone. It's been a while! If I'm not able to get on here before Thanksgiving....Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. My love to you all. :lovestruc

Let’s continue with rounding out our morning at the Most Magical of all Kingdoms. Recall, I had spent the wee hours of the morning checking us out of the Poly, sending out luggage over through bell services, and getting us checked into our new Southern-style home away from home. After meeting up with the other ladies, we had knocked off a bunch of stuff on the “left side of the park”, and now it was time to explore Lands of more Fantasy, and take a peer into the “Future”. Come along, and see what kinds of trouble we conjured up amongst ourselves…

DSCN0198.jpg

Eventually, they took pity on us and let us out of the stockade, and we immediately sought out the spires and towers of the center of the park. The Weenie. You DID you know that the icon of each park IS called a “weenie” right?? Yessiree… that’s the affectionate name Walt himself bestowed upon the large, obtrusive, centerpiece of his parks. Fitting, yes? No, I didn’t take a hundred additional pictures of Cindy’s abode; we were on a mission to tackle quite a few things in and around… let’s find out what the Intrepid 3 found to do.

The photographic evidence tells me we first hit up Philharmagic- quite possibly my personal favorite attraction in all of Fantasyland. Clever, technologically WOW, beautiful (who doesn’t love a Disney princess voice singing incredible scores of music?) and ummmm air-conditioned. We loved the short wait, once again, and were soon whisked off to exotic places such as Agrabah, Provincial France, and Under the Big Blue Sea. Who knew in 5 short minutes, one’s mind could be transported to another world and be taken away where everything is so untroubled and easy? Ahhhh, what I’d give for miniscule piece of that right now!

DSCN0203.jpg

Fullly refreshed and ready for more, we decided to take a “ride” on the dark side… on one of Walt’s original dark rides, that is. Snow White’s world was definitately NOT devoid of trouble, but that was because she was pretty naïve and well, stupid, but that’s a debate for another day. Nevertheless, the hag gave her an apple, a scene that still scares the crap out of me in that ride, just like it did when I was 4. But, by the time I get to here, though:

DSCN0206.jpg

All is right in my world again.

Hidden Mickeys, Anyone?

DSCN0205.jpg

I seriously considered devising a plan to sneak back in after the park closed to take one of these guys home and hold him hostage on my front lawn until Disney gave me a lifetime AP. Still wishing I had followed through….

DSCN0207.jpg

With Snow White resurrected from the “almost dead”, we thought we need to take a spin. Literally. So we headed here:

DSCN0209.jpg

It wasn’t long before we were zinging around in a LAVENDAR (that was a question in The Master Predictor Game- and someday, I promise we’ll get back to that!) oversized tea cup wishing Johnny Depp was in there with us. Afterall, we KNEW he was in the park- but probably still sitting in his treasure chamber over in “his attraction”. Didn’t he know that a lavender teacup could be just as full of “treasure” as a musty old room over at Pirates?? Mary, of course, refused to self-induce vomiting with us; at this point, I’m not even sure where she headed off to, but know she was still with us since we have pictures of her in a minute or two later.

DSCN0211.jpg

DSCN0215-1.jpg

And just what did we find a minute or two later?? Well, a couple of really great things actually:

DSCN0217.jpg

Let’s zoom in:

DSCN0216.jpg

On a hot day, that right there is a pretty good way to spend a snack credit!

While sipping libations and getting our feet wet in Tomorrowland, we ran into an old friend who was still talking trash. He was charming, funny, and famous- perfect life partner, if you ask me… well minus the handsome body, but hey, you can’t have everything.

DSCN0221.jpg

DSCN0222.jpg

After chatting it up for a while with us, he spied a newlywed couple who were just as enamored. We stayed and laughed till our guts hurt for a while, then made off for a cruise around the upper level. And speaking of feet:

DSCN0224.jpg

Oddly, for a second time in a row riding this, the lights were on AGAIN in SM!! Here are some better pictures of the track all lit up. Coolio, eh??

And a few more of the Red Line:

DSCN0232.jpg

DSCN0230.jpg

I never get tired of this relaxing ride around TL. Never.

The plan for the rest of our afternoon was to hang out in Wilder Places, but before caravanning out, we hit up Monstropolis for some last kicks and giggles. Don’t worry, I didn’t kick Mary that hard; I certainly wouldn’t hurt a girl while she was already down.

DSCN0236.jpg

DSCN0237.jpg

I don’t know what the numbers on that last one actually are, but am 99% certain they are dates that are significant to the Imagineers, and possibly refer to the date the attraction was opened. But more research than I have time for is needed to know for sure. Anyone wanna look it up??

So, there ya have it. A day in the park. It was magical in every way;

And I hope your day is simply magical as well. Until next time…

:confused3

They check the tracks with a horse and cart? ;)

Philharmagic is one of my favs as well!

It saddens me that I will never get to ride Snow White again, I never did get that one last ride when I visited back in May. :sad2:

Great update! :thumbsup2

I love the picture of y'all around the trash can, very cute. The newlywed couple look like they are having a good time, or at the very least confused as to what in the world is going on.

So what was the float you were drinking? Coke, rootbeer?

I know how crazy your life is right now, so thankyou for taking the time to write another update. :lovestruc

:confused3

They check the tracks with a horse and cart? ;)

o_O, how in the HECK did THAT happen?!? Ok, I'll take that off, and find the real one... :scared1:

but hey, glad SOMEONE'S still paying attention. ;)

Dude! I always do a picture of my feet on the TTA! Who knew? ;)

You know what I love about the Philharmagic? It's one of the only 3D experiences Disney's had that's not scary. That makes it awesome in my book. Never mind the yummy smells. :goodvibes

Congratulations on your award Liesa!!!!! :worship: :worship: :yay::yay: :yay::yay: :lmao::lmao:

Grrrrrrrreat update!!!

Philharmagic is one of our favorites too! :wizard:

I had to LOL at Mary's foot picture on the TTA. I totally forgot she had that monstrous boot on her foot!

Hope everything is well and you are all set for the ball! princess:

Fabulous update Liesa! I really do think you have a gift for writing...it's very witty and succint!:thumbsup2

I did know that the castle is called a "weenie" too! Though truthfully I don't get why it's called that.:confused3

Oh, I totally agree with you on Mickey's Philharmagic. It's a fantastic show, I love it! Never gets old, never.

Isn't it sad that Snow White's Scary Adventure is going by the wayside? I think so, I love those classic dark rides.:headache: The first time I rode it with my youngest (then 4), she buried her head in my armpit and only resurfaced when I assured her the ride was indeed over! It is a little freaky, kinda like a haunted house in a way, but I love it.

I don't do the teacups at all. I would be hurling Mickey waffles all over my family if I did! I cannot handle circular motions like that. I do have to say that I'm surprised ol' Jack Sparrow didn't regale you with is presence too! Shame on him. I'm sure he didn't know what he was missing.

Nice feet pic! I see your bandaged blister too!

I have caught up on at least a few of the updates. Love the alternate submarine version. Hope all is going well for all 7 of you.

Things are going ok. Not wonderfully, but not terrible either. Things with Rebekah and David just get more and more complicated and now he is seriously considering enlisting in the Navy. I'm not sure that Bek thought that she'd have to wait 5 years when she told him she would. Whether they stand the test of time will remain to be seen... Meantime we are all praying for his decision which he wants to make in the next couple of weeks. Needless to say, I am spending a lot of time on my knees these days.

i have no idea what I'm commenting on, which TR I'm on, who this is....;)

Seriously, I just can't keep up only being on once a week...:confused3

However, I will comment on the Sub pix...Disney does do a great job accommodating as many of their guests as possible. The Submarine attraction for handicapped guests is a great alternative. We almost did it as well as we had someone in a wheelchair the last time we were there. She wanted to go on the ride....she was able to stand in line for a bit.....

JORDAN!! Glad you're still popping in once in a while. I"m only getting updates up every few weeks, but once my classes are over for the term, I think I can crank them out a bit better, and give this poor, sad TR the proper TLC that it needs.

I totally agree on how well Disney does at giving everyone a chance to enjoy all that they can. And as with everything else they do... they do a whiz bang job at it! :thumbsup2

Hello there Liesa!

I'm still amazed with all the DL pics and the differences between DL and WDW.

You know, you are pushing 200+ pages. This just be the longest TR ever- you should win some kind of award or something. :lmao::lmao:

Well hello there, Tim!

There are oodles of differences, and about to be a WHOLE lot more! Wish I had the cashola to get back to my Motherland again sometime. :headache:

I know! It's even harder to believe that it's pushing the length it is without my even being here!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I"m not sure how to accept this award of Honor (?) :rotfl2: Certainly with some degree of humility. You know I love to write as much as you do, GB, and try to do my best to bring a tale that's worth reading. Glad I can bring a bit of human interest to the journey. :goodvibes

Have a great time getting ready for the ball - I think that is part of the fun for you! Congrats on your great test scores!:woohoo: Don't stress too much, we'll be here waiting for you! popcorn::

Thanks, Tammie!! My dress is VERY close to being 100% done- just a bertha collar, and a tiny bit of handwork now. YAY!!! I promise LOTS of pictures after the ball on Saturday night :)

Unless I actually do really badly on the finals now, I think I have 2 As in the bag! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Praise the Lord. He is so good!

wow that is awesome glad he is okay.

prayer does work.
:thumbsup2

AMEN!

Thanks for the praise report Tammie! So glad this young man was chosen to be walking proof that God is still in control! :goodvibes

Thanks for your kind words, Marv. I know we chat it up on FB some, but it's good to have our DISMeets here too once in a while :rotfl:

Still lots going on... but finals are the first week of Dec. and after that, life really should settle down a lot. Although, I probably need to find some part time work and will be taking ONE class next term. So we shall see...

That is wonderful news about Jordan !!A blessed testament to the power of prayer !!!:cloud9:

:thumbsup2

Great update. I LOVE Mickey's Philharmagic and could watch it several times a trip.

I think you should have gone with your plan of taking one of those cute men home until you got that AP.
