ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

:cool1: Glad you have enough time to post an update. Hope all is going well and midterms are over.
DL just may be in the cards for me next year. My annual conference is in Las Vegas and well it is a short hop to DL.

Looks like your time with Abe, Mary and the submarines were well spent.

hey, you little Ninja Poster, you!

YES! Mid-terms are DONERONI!! And I can't WAIT to get my results on Monday!

REALLY??! How coolio you might get a trip to DLR! You will you love it.:thumbsup2

haha, I had to read that last sentence of yours a couple of times to get it. :lmao: duh....

The Mary Blair artwork is very pretty. Is she the one who did the mural in the Contemporary, it looks familar.

The submarine looks like fun. I wish they still had something similar in WDW.

Still reading, just haven't "joined in" in a while.

I think I would really like the other version of the subs, it's more than a little crowded in those thngs and I was feeling just a little nervous....and trapped.

Loved your news about your daughter! Sounds like this trial has a built-in-blessing since you'll be gaining such a nice young son! Hope the MIL comes around soon. Sounds like she has some control issues and has forgotten who's REALLY in control.

Hi Liessa All cauight up , that sub ride looks interesting !!Not sure I would do it but maybe:confused3;)
As for Winkers and her popcorn !!!:rotfl2:She is a good one to talk !!!!:rotfl2:Love ya Cherie !!!

I think I'd have to check out the Great Moments with Lincoln attraction just because it's unique to DL. And the audio-animatronics really started with their version of Lincoln, so there's some good history there.

Very interesting how they have the "alternate" version of the sub ride. That's a neat out-of-the-box idea.

YES, it was Mary Blair who did all the art "stuff" for It's a Small World and the mural in the Contemp. It's very dinstinctive in color and style.

I do love the lagoon there in Tomorrowland at DLR; the ride itself has seen many interations, but the iconic lagoon has been there as long as I can remember. :thumbsup2

OH! Great to see you back!! With my recent absence, I've seen a lot of drop off, but after this term I should be back on more. Unless I have to find work.. which is a very distinct possibility. :confused3

My mom can't stand the clastrophobic feeling of them either. So this was actually a very good option for more than just Aunt Cherrie. :thumbsup2

Hopefully I can get a picture of them up soon. :) Control issues are only the tip of the iceberg with her, but if God's in it, it will work out. ;)

It is a good ride, Rosie, a little cramped but not too bad.

HAHA, yeah, funny how she posted that just as I put a big update up. :lmao:

That's really interesting how they handled the handicapped version of "the sub ride".

I thought it was rather creative myself. Always gotta hand it to the Imagineers!

Hi Liesa, it has been ages since I posted here, sorry!!

But I have been reading along... ;) Congratulations to Bekka - I wish both of them a lot of happiness and all the best for their future. And I hope that after a rocky start things will become smoother in the future. :good vibes

I love all your updates, especially the DL ones however. I really think my next Disney trip will have to take me to California, DL is just such a pretty place! :cloud9:

Glad you found the observation room for the subs. I've been known to use it when no one has been waiting for my kids who really, really want to see the ride and this is a great way to see it with little to no wait. I've also found it to be a very relaxing place to feed the baby. Glad to see you guys are still having a great time. Can't wait to read more!!!!

thats the first i have heard of a ride doing something like that

Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool how innovative it was! :thumbsup2

Definitely some great history, both American AND Disney, there. Very well done- very classy! And yes, the AAs at Tiki and Lincoln were the groundbreaking ones. Worth a check out.

The Imagineers never cease to amaze me with their clever ways of coming up with ways to give a way to let everyone have a great time. :goodvibes

HEY, Magdalene! You and your sister have come up many times in the last month; we were reminiscing about our trip to see you in Germany, my postcards still hang on the fridge, and I ate the last marzipan choco the other day

I will pass your greetings long to Bek and her man. They are doing fine, just doing a lot of talking and figuring things out at this point.

It is really a VERY pretty place. MUCH smaller in scope, but as with all things Disney, incredible attention to detail. And enough different to make it worth a trip.

Oh, I can totally see that as an option for a shorter wait, if there are no others waiting! And yes, a definitely fabulous place to feed a baby/ nurse. :thumbsup2

It sounds like I really need to make an effort to get to Disneyland someday! The Lincoln show sounds really cool. Of course, my family (well, most of us....I'm beginning to think my oldest child isn't really mine, but could quite possibly be my mother's) loves the Hall of Presidents and the American Adventure. Both are must-do's on every trip!

On a side note, I just finished reading "Killing Lincoln" by Bill OReilly. It is a very good book. It reads like a thriller, instead of a stale, dusty history book. Very interesting. One especially interesting tidbit is that Boothe's fiancee was also 'friendly' with Lincoln's son.

I caught up this morning before I left for work so I could see your pictures! So great that they had a handicapped version of the submarine ride. I think I might actually prefer that version over sitting inside a sub. Claustrophobia and all. Does that count as a handicap???? :rotfl: Nice pictures! Hope school continues to go well for you!

I love them both too!! I cry EVERY time I see them!

That sounds like a fascinating book! I know someone who'd really enjoy that, and it gives me an idea for a Christmas present now. Hmmmm...

Amazing the connection between Boothe's financee and Lincoln's son!! Who knew?!

Yeah, it was actually a very enjoyable journey "under the sea". I rather liked this version quite a lot! I think they'll let anyone in, but depending on how many are waiting ahead of you, it may be long wait??

Hi Rosie!!

Great to see you here!

Hey ALL!!

I know I've had another spell of being checked out... but THE ball of the year is in 2 weeks and we have yet to finish the most ambitious projects we've EVER done!! Our gowns are turning out to be stunning, very complex pieces of art, but are taking HUGE amounts of time. Every spare moment is going to getting these done! So until after the 19th, I"ll be wrapped up with that. Of course, there's always studying to get done as well. Only 4 weeks left in this term, and boy am I ready to be done with that as well!!

Hopefully, I can get an update up MAYBE on Thursday; meantime, I'll try to pop in and out of your threads as well! :goodvibes I miss you all!!

I have caught up on at least a few of the updates. Love the alternate submarine version. Hope all is going well for all 7 of you.

i have no idea what I'm commenting on, which TR I'm on, who this is....;)

Seriously, I just can't keep up only being on once a week...:confused3

However, I will comment on the Sub pix...Disney does do a great job accommodating as many of their guests as possible. The Submarine attraction for handicapped guests is a great alternative. We almost did it as well as we had someone in a wheelchair the last time we were there. She wanted to go on the ride....she was able to stand in line for a bit.....

Hello there Liesa!

I'm still amazed with all the DL pics and the differences between DL and WDW.

You know, you are pushing 200+ pages. This just be the longest TR ever- you should win some kind of award or something. :lmao::lmao:
