ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

I think that I am one of the few on the boards who does not like the Lapu Lapu, I know, it is hard to believe, it was just too strong for me.

:scared1: Now that's what I call painting a verbal image!!! :rotfl2:

Nice update! Love the artsy pictures, and your "Jeanie" pose.

I sure hope somebody carded Tate before he got to order his drinks!!! :rolleyes1

And looks like my SWAG theory for Master Predictor contests is off to a resounding thud!!! :sad2:

Tate used is suave moves to avoid a carding. He learned them from me, as you can see from the Jeanie pose.

SWAG?

As for veral images, I dintinctly remember something in the not-too-distant past about some birthday suit stuff. :rolleyes1

I wonder if you could ask for it "lite"? All the fruity taste without as many giggles.

HELLO!!!! Lovely update!! :cool1:

wait a minute - that Lapu, something is so wrong... HOW do you get INSIDE it? I mean really - that hole? does the top come off? Because that's my favorite thing when I had a Lapu - take that straw and shove it in the fruit, and then suck out the fruit.... yum, there's lots of fresh pineapple inside that carved out container!!

LOVE the mai tai tip! :thumbsup2

I wouldn't expect you to know what a SWAG is. It is a highly technical Engineering term. :snooty:

It stands for Scientific Wild A-- Guess....... ;)

Dare I ask how many of these you make on a daily basis? And what your accuracy is?

I can't remember if the top came off or not. I kinda think so since I poked around in there, and some out to eat. I dunno, I took it with me to the table..... I think. :lmao:

Yeah, that is why we are all like one big DISfunctional (Glennism) family that when we ever get to meet in real life, it is like we have known each other forever!!! :goodvibes That is what I love about all the threads and friends I am a part of here. We pick on each other mercilessly at times and laugh at ourselves and each other. But when all is said and done, we are all probably closer to each other (not actually having met each other in most cases) than tons of people who have known each other their whole lives! :grouphug:

Marv This is getting scary :scared1:I sooooo agree with how you worded what the Dis means to us , well to me at least !!! This is my refuge from a hard day at work, family squabbles and just when I need some  or:rotfl2 there is nowhere like it !!!!:

Leisa - that was truly laugh out loud funny!!!!! I love all the pictures of you and Tate. Nothing like hamming it up a bit with a tiki man. Great idea - save the pineapple, add the mai tai! And you're right - I, for one, would never know the difference! :rotfl2: It brings new meaning to the phrase - "feeling no pain".

/
Liesa loved the Lapu Lapu update and all your Tiki Poses !!!!Do they serve an non alcoholic version ?? I would love to try that!!!!

Love the Lapu! Delicious...and good point about the Mai Tai ordering. My favorite picture of me from the last trip is a close-up of me checking out my very first Lapu Lapu. So delicious...so much fun!

We love you too, Rosie!!

Glad I brought a smile to your day, Mary Ellen! See, there's lots to learn along the way! There was a thread I used to follow years ago (wow, it's very odd saying "years") about tips and secrets.... Too bad it's WAY too late to add that one.

:lmao: There's was WAY too much silliness going on for any pain. ;) Even from out of control blisters.

Liesa loved the Lapu Lapu update and all your Tiki Poses !!!!Do they serve an non alcoholic version ?? I would love to try that!!!!

I'm absolutely certain they'll do that for you, Rosie Dear! What I'm not sure about is what the charge would be. :confused3 Maybe $3 less??

I remember that picture!! They're just so much fun- who knew a pineapple could be so cool?? :rotfl2:

Promised the update by 8:00PM my time. Made it just under the wire!!! And Rosie will be proud......... :rolleyes1

Yeah, I saw that... and it looks like our tandem SWAG technique was a miserable failure for both of us. :lmao:

(that almost sounded dirty, didn't it?)

I have to admit, I personally am not too sad, but do know what it feels like to have a favorite attraction get relagated to the annals of history- Mr. Toad was one of them for me.

Mr. Toad was my favorite Disney World ride. Now I HAVE to go to DL to ride it. Something about the Train and the devils that made me smile.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

and a little bit silly? (Yes, this was BEFORE my 2 drinks.)

I guess it's understandable why there aren't any pictures of AFTER. ;)

Soon, Mary showed up and we swooped in (well, she commandingly wheeled in) on a table we’d share with a nice little family and eventually get sloshed with. Well, ok, we didn’t really get sloshed, but by the time LeeAnn showed up, (oops, I’m supposed to be maintaining some semblance of suspense here, aren’t I? My bad.) we were pretty juiced up. At least I was, because, I’m telling you- that Heaven in a Pineapple was strong and guuuuuuuuuuuuud!

Tate enjoyed choosing his libation as well

Just curious, do those knees belong to the nice little family that you eventually got sloshed with?

and recommended a Midori Sour for Mary, which she ordered.

That Tate. He's like the most interesting man in the world.

Did I mention that Lupus are tasty? So nomilicious, in fact, that one was simply not going to cut it. And ladies and gents, I am here today to pass along Disney Touring Tip #412. Do not order another full Lapu at $14, or whatever ridiculous price it was. My server, who was WAY too chatty, by the way (one of those hanger-onners, like a pesky piece of TP on your shoe kind), informed us that a more economical way (does Disney even KNOW the meaning of that concept?) to get more liquor is to order an $8 Mai Tai, and dump it in the fruit. Not exactly the same thing but close, and hey, after a Lapu, who’s really going to know the difference?

Nice tip from Mr. Chatty Server. He probably couldn't help being chatty after he took one look at your toes.

Around 9:30, we settled up the bill at the bar and got buzzed. This time with a buzzer/flasher…

:rotfl2:

Wait. Flasher? Rosie was there?

Mr. Toad was my favorite Disney World ride. Now I HAVE to go to DL to ride it. Something about the Train and the devils that made me smile.

The whole ride was super. It was bumpy and fun with a ton of classic cartoony sight gags in it. Sniff, sniff, he's gone to Toady Heaven.

I guess it's understandable why there aren't any pictures of AFTER. ;)

yeah, it was like that. Pretty much. I have exactly 4 from dinner. So I told Mary, she's nearly on her own for the next chapter. Which she says should be up Monday or shortly thereafter.

Just curious, do those knees belong to the nice little family that you eventually got sloshed with?

Indeed they are; good eye! Now, wouldn't you like to have a drink with those knees??

That Tate. He's like the most interesting man in the world.

The chicks dig him- no matter what he's wearing. ;)

Nice tip from Mr. Chatty Server. He probably couldn't help being chatty after he took one look at your toes.

At this point they were still "pretty". Bank that....

Wait. Flasher? Rosie was there?

:lmao: I'm sure she was in spirit, if not in the flesh. :rotfl2:

I second that thought! It's a great community here on the DIS (at least this group I've fallen into  ) But honestly, I am so excited to meet up with you Marv in August! And Rosie... we need to go shopping again sometime :thumbsup2

Dare I ask how many of these you make on a daily basis? And what your accuracy is?
So you're wanting me to SWAG on my SWAGs??? :rotfl2:

Not as dirty as some things you've said to me....... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:
Mr. Toad was my favorite Disney World ride.
That one was a lot of fun for me too. I spent most of the ride just laughing uncontrollably! I wish that one was still around too!

I'm really looking forward to meeting up with you and Tanya this trip Jen! One of the best things about my dates having to change for sure!!!

we use swag in a whole other meaning around here.

when you go to a conference or convention, or anywhere that has free stuff we call it SWAG.

a sentence that is commonly used around the office.

Did you get any SWAG?

or

Show me what SWAG you got.

now i saw the suttle hint in your last update...but it was there....you ordered a mai tai for the second drink, and poured it into the pineapple.

but to be nice, (and partly because you didnt think it was quite as good as the original,) you offered it to your dear friend who traveled all day.

while secretly you knew it was a nice gesture, by compleating this gesture you were able to order yourself another fruity drink.

so my answer of 4 drinks consumed by you was correct.

1. because you got your first lapu lapu
2. you ordered your mai tai.
3. your mai tai turned into a fake lapu lapu when you poured it into the pineapple thus infussing it with pineapple juice and creating a 3rd drink.
4. you were a lush and ordered another lapu lapu

thus my reasoning is correct you had 4 drinks that night, and taking a sip of each counts for consuming them.
its amazing how i can twist anything into a correct answer.

Great Update Liesa.

Yay!!! The Belle Battalion are together at last!! princess:princess:princess:

That Tate. He's like the most interesting man in the world.

So you're wanting me to SWAG on my SWAGs??? :rotfl2::

I guess I worry about this SWAG technique given the nature of your business! :rotfl2::rotfl2: Reminds me of that scene in Apollo 13 where they "hope" the CO2 filter works....

The good thing is that when we need our friends here, all the jokes immediately stop and everyone becomes the bestest of support groups!!!:goodvibes:

Amen, and amen!

Not as dirty as some things you've said to me.......

Yes, but those were accidental!! For the most part.

That one was a lot of fun for me too. I spent most of the ride just laughing uncontrollably! I wish that one was still around too! :

I think we all have a bit of Toad Envy deep down inside.

I'm really looking forward to meeting up with you and Tanya this trip Jen! One of the best things about my dates having to change for sure!!!

:banana::banana: How great you get to meet those ladies!! Lots of pictures, please everyone!!!

Wow, the things you learn everyday. So this is the junk like backpacks, water bottles, and promo videos, right? :confused3

That was a might fine thought process, Dan!! And it would have been even more completely amazing HAD I BEEN TALKING ABOUT ONLY THE DRINKS FOR THAT NIGHT. The question was in reference to the entire trip, silly billy. So far there've been 4. Apricot Sour at HBD, Welsh Dragon at Rose and Crown, and the Lapu and supplemental (cheaper) re-fill. 4. Now, go back and guess again, there's 8 days left of the trip.

I second that thought! It's a great community here on the DIS (at least this group I've fallen into  ) But honestly, I am so excited to meet up with you Marv in August! And Rosie... we need to go shopping again sometime :thumbsup2

This sounds like a movie trailer! Are you in show biz?? I've always wondered if any of my DISFriends are really superstars or realy famous.

Oh man, that looks soooo good. Although I think if I drink a whole Lapu, this would happen:

drunk_magic.jpg

It wasn't that bad- lots of fresh juices and plenty of good rum. I had no problem getting to the table. Nor pulling some pretty funny stuff during dinner.... as you shall see.....
