ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

My photos of the night...apparently I was having too much fun and didn't take many!

CamilleTammie.jpg

The beautiful ladies Camille & Tammie perusing the menu...

I can't believe I didn't get any photos of Liesa!! :sad2:

Tate2-1.jpg

But I did get one of Tate! Notice that he's already drunk an entire Ouzo as well as starting to eat our appetizer! Definitely a party animal...

And no photos of the actual event, but I never realized how fast I could move in response to Liesa's attempt to baptise me as soon as we sat down at the table.

:rotfl2: I forgot about the baptizing! You were probably hiding your camera!:rotfl: Great pic of Tate the party animal!

Camille looks so cute - you can see me pretending I don't need glasses :3dglasses

Great update! I love the EE pictures. I can't believe that's the one coaster I got my husband on during our first trip. :lmao: I just remember going up to the top, thinking, "If this goes up this steep on this side...what could possibly be on the other side?" Well, we all know the answer to that one and this ride turned out to not be too bad at all. :goodvibes And we got to learn another fun fact about you; like that you lived in Thailand. Someday, I'll see Asia.

I so love you for calling me a "young" lady!

We're only as old as we think we are. ;)

That's not Disney overkill, is it? :lmao:

What's that?

GO DUCKS!!! :cool1:

Can we still be friends if I live in a Beaver Alum's home?

so heck if I know what color it really was!

And... I had had Uzzo....

Hey, I brought the rings that flashed, but I guess that wasn't good enough... ;)

It was absolutely perfect, but none of would stop talking long enough to set up the picture. Women! :sad2::lmao:

Yep, she showed us this trick...we were all a little wary as we're staring at the glass...whispering to each other..."it's not going to explode, is it?" :rotfl:

Wouldn't that have been a gas?! Exploding alcohol! :rotfl2:

No kidding...although wouldn't that have been a very interesting ending (HAH!) to the evening! (I thought about putting the dancing banana smilie here...:rotfl2:)

Talk about a Hoop de View!!!! :scared1:

What an awesome woman! I love paying it forward, and it's so nice to hear about others doing the same! :cloud9:

It was really cool of her to do that, when she totally didn't have to!!

Liesa!!

Awesome update!!

Your pictures of EE are AMAZING!!!!!!

Woo Hoo!

Ok...I guess it is my turn again?! ;)

I don't think they even hold a candle to your Splash pix. Just sayin'...

Yep, your turn again, my dear.

WOW! THey look Fabulous!

I can't believe I didn't get any photos of Liesa!! :sad2:

Trust me... I am not offened. At. All!

Tate2-1.jpg

What a boozer! :rotfl2:

And no photos of the actual event, but I never realized how fast I could move in response to Liesa's attempt to baptise me as soon as we sat down at the table.

Holy cow!! Here's how it went down:

WE all sit down, and get all cozy like. The super nice waiter guy brings our waters, and we start yapping. Pretty soon, Tate makes his appearance, and he goes to grab for a piece of bread. See it there in his hand?? He's getting a little rambunctious having just gotten all giddy off of some really cool looking cloudy booze, and accidentally makes a water glass go flying! WHAM! All over Jen, and me, and the table, and the menus. So, you see... it was Tate doing his crazy moves. That's my story, and I"m stickin' to it. :rolleyes1

:rotfl2: I forgot about the baptizing! You were probably hiding your camera!:rotfl: Great pic of Tate the party animal!

Camille looks so cute - you can see me pretending I don't need glasses :3dglasses

I'd have hidden mine too. That is, if the battery hadn't have died first, or I hadn't run out of data storage, or it refused to open, or, or....:lmao:

It's a pretty tame coaster, really. I love the theming on it so much, and it's just enough to provide some tame-ish thrills. I just wish my body would cooperate.

Hmmm...let's see. I also have AB blood, am left-handed, and used to rock climb. ;)

Great Adventure for EE.

For the D I am going to say Downtown Disney and Harley Davidson. At least that where I think the picture was taken. If you just want something nearby then Disney Quest

I don't think you met my son Chris. He was ditching me left and right in Sept.

Now I am not saying he didn't bump into you at some point but when we met he was not with me.

Another story well told.
Now for my guess Downtown Disney and Disney Quest

I have planned trips for several different families. I really try to meet with each family, usually multiple times, and figure out what they want to accomplish, what needs they have as far as disability accommodations, what places they want to eat…you know the drill…after all you are here reading this! :thumbsup2

But I plan. And plan. And plan. I obsess, really. About the weather. About ADR's. Which day for which park? Do we avoid EMH or embrace them? What is my plan B if it rains? But by the time I get on a trip - I have a PLAN...usually a Plan A, Plan B, Plan C...

And if everyone would just fall in line and follow my plan, the trip will be perfect, right?!?!? :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I mean…

are you with me here?!? :cool2:

I want to make it possible for them to do EVERYTHING they want……

and I have some control issues. :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

So…when Day Two rolls around and we have barely scratched the surface of the MK…and it is like 10 AM....YES...10 AM!!....and we still are not on the bus to go to DHS…I start to get pretty antsy. :upsidedow

Sarah has a plan today, too. She wants to try out for American Idol!! And I so want her family to go with her…because that only makes sense…and I want them to see her excel (or fail and be there to encourage her no matter what)…But it isn't working out that way. And Sarah is ready to GO!

So Sarah and I actually make our way alone to the bus stop and head to DHS. We go straight to the American Idol auditions…

I am so excited for her! Because it is a slow day in Sept, I really think she has a shot at being a part of this. She sings well and is quite talented. And she does have a story - and they really like people with a cool story to tell.

Here we are at the entrance. I love how excited she was about the whole thing, wanting me to take pictures at each step along the way!

disneysept2010day2001.jpg

A little artsy shot…

disneysept2010day2003.jpg

She was extremely nervous! You have to go in this room and sing a song acapella to a judge…I would simply faint!

disneysept2010day2006.jpg

Here she goes!!

disneysept2010day2008.jpg

I love this picture!! How cool to do a real audition for American Idol!

disneysept2010day2009.jpg

Her judge was very nice, but also quite intimidating. They are trying to weed out the men from the boys for sure!

But she impressed the judge!!! And MADE it to the 2nd round of judges!

disneysept2010day2011.jpg

disneysept2010day2012.jpg

(Notice the kleenex on the desk for the people she has to say No to…how sad!)

So the next step is picking your song. The judge makes some suggestions and it is definitely wise to follow those! You would know that by watching the show…but it also helps because they know a good range for you and what song you would sing well…PLUS they know what other song types have been chosen to be in the shows already…and since they try to mix it up for the shows, it pays to listen to their suggestion and go with the song they suggest.

She gets to practice in this special room where they have equipment to sing through your song.

disneysept2010day2013.jpg

But I don't think she was entirely comfortable with that particular song. She sounded great singing it…but it just was not her favorite…so she didn't have that spark as she sang…

disneysept2010day2016.jpg

Then there is lots of paperwork to sign. I totally signed as her guardian…(DOH)…I guess it is a good thing she didn't totally win…because the legal department may have had a thing or two to say about that! :faint:

Then it was TIME!

The true test!

The PRODUCERS!

disneysept2010day2023.jpg

These guys were both very nice and they were very complimentary of her abilities, but they also said that they think she needs a couple more years to really mature her voice….

So she wasn't picked. :(

She was not terribly sad - but I felt bad for her - especially because she doesn't really know me - I am sure she really would have wanted her Momma to be there to encourage her after that rejection. But, I played up the fact that she got so far! And how cool that was!! And they gave us a pretty large handful of fastpasses, which was really cool!! That certainly took the edge off of any sadness she was feeling!

Up next…gotta USE those FP's!!

(Obviously, I have GOT to find a better way to format that!)

I don't think so....I liked the way it was formatted! My score was easy to find.

The most famous in these formidable, snow covered crags is the Yeti but

Yeti butt? That is formidable!

But, The Adventurer threw caution to the wind, and managed a few pretty decent shots of the hoary heights of Everest… where monsters loiter waiting to attack unsuspecting travelers.

They really need to put up a "no loitering" sign.

Gathering her thoughts, she headed off to ponder just what to do with this novel prize. Hmmmm…

LiesasWDWPix2010087.jpg

So that's what pondering looks like!

That's actually my favorite spot of the ride...when you're going around those circles a couple of times. :thumbsup2

About the time Yeti came out to snarl at the intruders in his lair, “Neck Destroyer”- the other, much-more-to-be-feared monster struck with full force!!

Ain't that the truth!

Liesa, you are a brave soul. You can barely get me on EE once let alone twice and within an hour of the first time. :scared1:

Maroo, great update. Sorry that Sarah didn't make it further, but she gets major points from me for even trying. :thumbsup2

Which of the 3 previous rounds did I miss? I thought I had got in all of them, but I could have just thought I did.

My guess for this round is

Downtown Disney, near the defunct pleasure island, dining at planet Hollywood, and disneyquest

I don't have a guess recorded for letter B. THe good news is that that one should be in the thread (as opposed to my now empty inbox), so let's go back and try to find it!! I ALWAYS have at least one mistake when I do this stuff! I'm sure it's there; let's look!

Page 41 post 603. I wasn't 100% sure I had gotten in for letter A.....then I thought maybe my PM for letter C didn't go through.....but I was sure I made it in for B.

Ok, I've changed it in both the post and on my Excel sheet! GREAT job!! (And thanks a zillion for doing the legwork!!)

So, SEE everyone? I make mistakes like this far too often, and I need your help a bit :)

Ok, I just wasn't sure... thanks for clearing that up!

Another story well told.
Now for my guess

Thanks!! It was fun to write in that style this time around....

I don't think so....I liked the way it was formatted! My score was easy to find.

Well, it was ONLY like that because you were one of the very first to wager a guess at the beg. of the game. I should code in a "randomizer" next time.

Yeti butt? That is formidable!

:lmao: You know, that would have been a very good place to put that random extra "t".

They really need to put up a "no loitering" sign.

They could probably get one from a 7-11 pretty cheap.

So that's what pondering looks like!

I was actually just seeing what it would do if I blew on it.

That's actually my favorite spot of the ride...when you're going around those circles a couple of times. :thumbsup2

Mine too! I love the tummy tickles right about there. :thumbsup2

Ain't that the truth!

Uh huh!

Liesa, you are a brave soul. You can barely get me on EE once let alone twice and within an hour of the first time. :scared1:

I do love a good coaster!! My kids went on 5 times in a row last time they went!

Here is my guess- Downtown Disney behind Planet hollywood I hope I am understanding the 'new' rules. :confused3

Braving first the crowds at the FiP Machine

What's a FiP machine? :confused3

Her adrenaline reached a crescendo, as she approached the “Directional CM”, and was told that she’d get a front row seat! NICE! For quite some time, she had wanted to face this enemy tete-a-tete, and score some better-than-backseat ride pictures.
SCORE! :thumbsup2s.

You a lurker on Barry's thread? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Love this! :lmao:

Great EE pics! I wish I was there right now! :sad1:
