ABCs of Trip Reporting, Pt. 2-Life Can Be Crappy and Then You Move On (3/7)

Too true- but more often I see all of us sucking up to Marv. And he actually does give (a few, and to other people besides me) a few bonus points for that. :rotfl2:
Excuse me, but you actually got one for our little Facebook interaction the other night. Did you want me to tell everyone what it was for????:rolleyes1

I tried already to make a ressie at PP, but they don't have any handicapped rooms available for our dates, and the price shot up to over $700 for Disneyland Hotel for the 2 nights! :scared1::scared1::scared1: NOT going to do that!!

Yikes! Sounds like a good neighbor hotel will be best!

Hey - I need some bonus points since I started late in the game! What exactly does one have to do?

It's 60 days out and you just have to call. It's old school
:rotfl:

GREAT!! I should call soon, I guess! So many other more important things to take care of first- like a rental car, which is proving to be of utmost frustration!

Yikes! Sounds like a good neighbor hotel will be best!

FB'd you about Anara's sizes...

Yes! I think the one I chose will be great! It's within easy walking distance, looks really pretty and was the right price with a guaranteed handicapped room.

Don't worry, it's a brand new game starting very soon. I am about halfway finished with the prizes from Parts 1 and 2, so exciting stuff all around. Hmmm.. bonus points: still thinking on that one for the next Part! ;)

I think she was hoping you would give her tips on how to earn points in MY contest.......since you are so good at it. ;)

Marv you can give me TIPS for your contests !!:rotfl2:By the way I have strated a Pole Dancing Frenzy!!!!:lmao::lmao:Lake George mya never recover !!!!:rotfl2:

Yeah, mine started getting spaced out further and further as I had more. And I got more and more tired. Would I do it all again? YOU BETCHA! :thumbsup2 But I hear ya on the "pregnant or nursing" thing. There were so many things I couldn't do for so many years: roller coasters, water slides, a margarita with friends.... It does end...

Sounds like me. I do talk about Disney a lot, and they think I'm nutz. Ah well, you only live once (here anyway). My DH gets huffy, so I have to control myself and just share my passion with all of you!! Aren't we all lucky to have the DIS?! My last trip with my folks was full of drama of the parental kind as well. Never again- at least with my dad. I'm trying again with my mom in 3 weeks, but even if I don't get on one ride, really I'll be ok.

I actually put my dad in charge of the rental car thing. That should be figured out by today. But I GOT OUR HOTEL RESSIE!!!! Know anything about the Anabella?? Candy Cane Inn was booked, at least the handicapped rooms were. Hope it works for us!

Yes, I can see desperation has taken hold of Jen! Where is she, and what did you do with her? :lmao:

I was! It wasn't for very long, but long enough to know I'd go back in a second to do it again!

Good strategy!! Thinking about M- so many possibilities with that one!

Original yes; adjective yes; accaptable no.

Too true- but more often I see all of us sucking up to Marv. And he actually does give (a few, and to other people besides me) a few bonus points for that. :rotfl2:

One other had libations as well, so that one was thrown out. I can't remember how Camille worded it- something like "libations like lattes".

Thanks for taking the time to keep track of all those answers!

I have too... ; I don't think there were any bad feelings. Except when my son ate the last piece of pizza... :scared1:

I'd have loved to have gotten the Fastpasses and EMH, but it just didn't work out. I"m quite a bit late in the game on this planning deal!

Today, I'm going to figure out how the ADR system works and try to get some of those...

Those FPs would have been sweet. You will have a great time wherever you are.

Let your fingers do the walking :tiptoe:

That's exactly how I'm feeling. The joke right now is we aren't allowed to go to Disneyland at Christmas anymore cuz in both Dec 2007 and Dec 2009 we came home pregnant. We have 2 Disney souveniers!! lol I wouldn't give my kids up for anything. They may drive me crazy at times but I wouldn't give them up for anything. That could be why I want more.

My mom is allowed to go with us any time she wants. She understands our system to be able to get on everything with minimum waits even during peak season. But my dad and in-laws, yeah never again!! My dad is just a complainer and my mother in law is selfish. That should explain enough.

I've never stayed at the Anabella or the Candy Cane Inn. But looking at the map on hotels.com it does look to be farther than the Disney hotels. We normally stay at the Anaheim Plaza Hotel which is on the corner of S Harbor Blvd and Disney Way. I think the longest it ever took us to walk to the hotels from there was about 10 mins and that was with me being 7 1/2 months pregnant (everyone thought we'd cancel that trip but nope not me!!) The rooms are a lot bigger than the standard hotels we've stayed in. I haven't stayed in a handicapped room but we've had enough space in our room for a pack n play, co sleeper, double stroller, single stroller and the two queens beds with plenty of space to walk around and not feel cramped. Also what's nice there is a lot of the rooms either have a balcony or little patio area so with having the kids it's nice to let them go outside and play while I'm making lunch or when we have down time at the hotel. The rooms have started getting updated but even before the update we've never had any problems with the rooms. Plus at Christmas time I can't beat the price. Last year we paid $89 a night when the hotel right next door was about $120 a night. It helps make the trips more affordable.

Don't worry, it was just a small blurb on my online news webpage - and a welcome distraction from the EHEC outbreak which at the moment is the main headline.

That must be very scary for you all. Are they giving ideas how to avoid getting sick from the produce? This just convinces me even more I need to start growing my own food. I would really like to move onto some land so I can have lots of room for organic veggie gardens and a chicken coop. :thumbsup2 I'll be praying for EHEC to be found and the health of everyone there to be safe, especially you and your family.

Liesa, I am just quoting Millie, but I read your comment as well...

I think the whole thing is blown a bit out of proportion. It is one of the worst outbreaks of a rather nasty disease and I think it is important to try everything to reduce the risks. Unfortunately this is harming a lot of vegetable farmers at the moment who have greenhouses full of tomatoes and cucumbers and lettuce and can't sell anything of their stuff.

The way to avoid infection is good hygiene: i.e. wash everything very good, wash your hands several times a day. Keep your kitchen clean. A lot of basic stuff. And then of course: everything that has been cooked is fine as well. But cooked lettuce just isn't something I like... :crazy2: So far it seems like the main herd of infections is in North-Western Germany, so neither where Katharina nor I live. And since it is asparagus season, I am eating lots of that: it has to be cooked. :thumbsup2

Unfortunately EHEC is some really nasty bacteria. It can get into your own garden even (even though I think for a whole of other reason growing your own organic vegetables is really great!). Most cows, goats and sheep are carriers of one or the other type of EHEC. It just appears that this new variant is much more aggressive than others. The scary thing is that they think that one of the reasons why those dangerous variants of EHEC started to develop was the overuse of antibiotics for cattle. I guess it might be something which we will have to get used to occurring again and again - and not only if you eat undercooked meat or raw milk cheese (two things which I really love to eat: a medium-rare steak and French cheese...).

Saw the FB - thanks! I am going to double check tonight but I think we are good!

Marv is right! I want to know what you did on FB to get bonus points in his game! I am very happy with how I did in your last round and I can't wait until your next round! I loved the bonus components you added last time!

It was inevitable. I heard the Hobbit is coming out soon, by the way. Thoguht I'd try out.
good luck im sure you will get it, but they might ask you to shave them back a little.

I had worked in the garden earlier accidentally getting some poison oak...yeah, that's it... poison oak. :rolleyes1

That thought had definitely crossed my mind... we'll see!!!

well if you go with those i think people will like them, there are so many uses for them.
:thumbsup2

I could tell she was really dragging! Poor thing!!
she was beat, but she slept good that night so she was okay the next day.
sorry to lazy to seperate it out.
No, when it comes to this story I'll leave the spilling and leaking to you and your TR......... :rolleyes1
Oh, and here I thought it was because we were bestest buds!!! Guess I need to go back and adjust some contest scores....... :sad2:

well now i have to hurt glenns feelings, i just said that so he didnt get upset at me...you know your my best bud.
:cool2:

I've got a bad feeling about this.
you should it might have involved spilling and leaking of a sort.

Well, you have actually MET Dan, so I'm sure that feeling is completely justified........ :)
yep put me and glenn together and a YMCA song and we are good to go.

I have too... ; I don't think there were any bad feelings. Except when my son ate the last piece of pizza... :scared1:
i know i really wanted it, but thought i should be nice.

actually i was stuffed from the piece i had before that, it was sort of a second dinner, but i knew we would be hungry since the last time we ate in chicago was about 6-7 hours before that with the time change added in.

so i knew we had to have something.

just glad they liked the toppings.
:thumbsup2

Well, I'm glad we didn't move to the house next to the one with all the goats!! Something in me said this was the last place I wanted to move to, and I couldn't pin point why. It was a really nice place, perfect for everything we needed or wanted to do. Thank you Lord!
Magdalena, I kinda thought the same about how it's being blown out of perportion (most media does-no matter where you live), but I'm also not the one living there, so I didn't want to say anything. Those poor farmers in Spain and all around who are going belly up in their business because of the scare.
Well, I'm doing a good job according to what your saying, I wash my hands more than most people probably do and hate a dirty kitchen when I cook. I wash down the handle and seats on the carts at the grocery store before I shop (with the wipes they provide), and if they don't have wipes I carry some with me. I'm not the paranoid type, but I do realize how disgusting grocery store carts can be. My daughter became REALLY sick after being in a grocery store cart when she was little, I won't ever forget how awful it was and will not use a cart without the wipes from that point on. :sad2:
Like I said, I'll be praying for you and your family to stay well. Y'all are to precious to us for you to be getting sick like that. You can never have to much covering from the Big Guy Himself. :goodvibes
By the way, asparagus is one of my all time favs. I love to buy them as skinny as I can, snap off the pithy bottoms (they break exactly where the more course stuff needs to come off) lay them out on a cookie sheet, drizzle with a little olive oil, salt, pepper, little garlic powder (you can leave this off), and some lemon juice squeezed over them and in the oven at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Perfecto! Sooo tasty! :goodvibes

I have too... ; I don't think there were any bad feelings. Except when my son ate the last piece of pizza... :scared1:

Huh?!? I'm so cornfused, when was your son in the same place Dan was? Didn't you all just have a meet? You had to, there's no other way your son would be in the same place Dan would be otherwise. LOL I'll stop talking to myself now. :rotfl:

No doubt Glenn. That stuff is N A S T Y! Budlight is nasty without lemon, covering it up with Lemon isn't going to make it any better. :sad2:
