ABCs of Disney - Altered Rolodex Swap! ALL POSTAL 6/11! Enjoy!

Deb--ouch!! Don't worry....!!!

Joy--just sealed up the package w/o the postage...want me to snail-mail you the stamp or can I regular mail or paypal the $$ to you? LMK! thanks!

ETA--they are on their way....and the post office didn't have the $4.60 stamps...

Ummm...I have a problem. :( I cut my index finger with a tomato knife while prepping dinner tonight. I can't finish sticking things down because it keeps bleeding. I'm not sure I'll make it to the post office by noon tomorrow. (That's what I get for helping Nez before I finished my own!!)

I'll do my best to get them done & there, but if not it will be Tuesday morning before they can go. They still might make it - the last couple times I sent things to Shauna it only took 2 days!!

Keep your fingers crossed!!

Ouch!! Take care of your finger first.

I don't mind putting the coral pieces on mine if they're sent with the cards. I also think they will arrive in time if sent on Tuesday. That's what I will likely be doing. I don't mind if they're late either.

Deb, I hope your finger feels better soon..
I don't mind adhering the pieces together either if you just want to mail them out!!!
I don't mind waiting either!!!

Thanks everyone!! Nez & I tried to do them this morning, but I can still only use my thumb & middle finger. Even now, it's still bleeding a little - I have thin blood I guess. :confused3 (I know when I test my blood sugar I often get blood from an old stick...like 3 or 4 days later!) Mostly it's just sore now. If it had been an actual cut I would have had them put a stitch or two in it, but it's a puncture wound. I caught myself good with the tip of that knife. :(

We should be good for getting them done & to the post office early Tuesday. You're all very sweet to offer to stick them together your self but I didn't put them in the Xyron in any way that was sensible...except to conserve the adhesive. I'd never have been able to cut them apart to send each person just their own pieces.

And of course I'd forgotten that DCWV has given me fits before when I punch out letters & run them through the "X"...the colored layer of the paper peels off. So I need to redo about a half dozen of those.

I'll scan a couple in a bit and post it for you to see.

I am really sad to hear about your injury. One that affects swapping is just horrible, really horrible. I have nightmares about that.

I know I also can wait until you are healed.

Went postal today & keeping my fingers crossed that it will only take 3 days to California this time. ;) And Joy - I want to apologize if it makes your job harder when sorting the cards, but I wrapped each card in Syran Wrap. I was worried about them sticking together. I went through & tried to remove as much adhesive as possible, but every time I thought I had it all (as in wasn't tacky to the touch) when I came back an hour later it was tacky again! :headache: :confused3 I'm thinking it was all the humidity we had around here. Anyway, I was afraid only one would get to CA...as in they'd all be stuck to each other. :rotfl2:

Hopefully that will have resolved itself by the time it gets back to everyone!

Also, I could have sworn that I'd posted the picture of these on Saturday night, but I can't see it. :confused3 I uploaded the picture again (to the DIS site this time) and hopefully it will show up.

WOW! I love them!

Really? Thanks! I wasn't all that impressed with them by the time I was done. But I always feel that way about my stuff - no matter how much time, thought & effort I put into them. I always hope it's either my perfectionistic nature or just "familiarity breeds contempt". ;)

I think the coolest part is how you have the seahorses with their tails on the seaweed, just like they really would.

We have an aquarium (fresh water) so I am fond of just watching the fish swim. And that is what your cards will remind of each time I see them. That I really should be taking the kids to the Newport Aquarium more than I do.

as for me, I am still cut cut cutting away. DH is home so I'm trying to get stuff done around here. I will overnight mine when I'm finished. Sorry I'm holding everyone up. :flower3:

Deb, those are darling! I love that they look just like a little aquarium. The seahorses are so cute. You did a really great job!!!

Those are gorgeous! I know I will appreciate them even more knowing what trouble you had with your die to do them, plus having been injured at the end of the process! Hope your finger is healing well!

I admit that I am supposed to be blonde. It took me five minutes before I figured out where the hidden Mickey was. I kept thinking, no that coral doesn't make Mickey shapes.

OMG that is some amazing detail work!

No worries on the individual wrap -- if you feel it's necessary, I can deal... I just don't want a TON of extra bulk when mailing back. Stuffing 26 ziploc baggies into a flat rate envelope will makes it bulkier than it needs to be. I know some of your cards are glued such that it makes it necessary to keep them separated, though. Very thoughtful of you!
