ABCs of Disney - Altered Rolodex Swap! ALL POSTAL 6/11! Enjoy!

I have all mine cut out. I will be assembling them at my crop on Sunday.

OMG you guys are going to think I am sooooo LAME!

So I get to work this morning and I am all excited to bust into the package from Erica (Ilovemyprincesses) and I take them out and I'm looking at them (they're great, btw)... and I'm thinking... gosh they look small...

So I look over at my rolodex (I specifically wanted to do this for my work rolodex), and match it up, and realize that my work rolodex is the LARGER one (they're 3x5) and that is what I had originally intended to do... but I never measured the cards so when I opened this swap, I just googled rolodex to get the card measurements and assumed that my rolodex had the 2.5x4 cards.

OY!

Oh well, now I will have a full set of alphas for a petite rolodex.... and I'll have to find a way to start another rolodex swap for 3x5 cards

Like I said, I'm so lame.....

Oh Joy I'm sorry, but I'm sitting here That is soooo something I'd do!!

I'm sorry that you'll have to do this all over again...but let me know when that will be. The 3x5 one would work for recipes and I have a ZILLION Disney recipes!

You guys scared me!!! When I saw this I looked at my rolodex on my desk and was like OK what size are you???? So I got out my ruler and Whew!!! It is the right size!!!!

Cause I am using mine at work too!!!! I want to redecorate my office at work in Disney!!!! But I want it to be all stuff that I make!!!! Cool Huh!

Well I am glad I didn't do the wrong size. There is no way I would want to start over.

I saw the big cards when I went to the office store and I was going to mention it but I forgot.

Well, I bought the larger size to start with. I looked at the little size the first time and thought, wow that's tiny. Then got back here and saw I was supposed to get the tiny size. Took the larger cards back and found a great little rolodex file & cards at Walmart for $5.00. I can use the small one for my own personal use, and go back and get the larger ones when we do the recipe swaps. Which I would be very much into.

Joy-that's tto funny! When you started this swap and wrote large size cards, but then included the smaller size, I was going to question it, but figured it was just the smaller size. I was going to use it for a recipe holder at first also, till I saw the size of the smaller cards. lol

Ya'll are freakin' me out!! Big ones little ones. Luckily I didn't see any of the bigger ones at Walmart.
I like the recipe idea!!! Hmmm maybe this fall? We have some openings left in Sept/Oct time frame.

Just wanted to check in! Must admit. . .not much progress yet. I know what I'm going to do, and I have my supplies, but I have to get state testing finished at work before I get into this. I'm hoping to work on them this weekend and finish them to mail by the 19th.

how are you guys doing your Letter?? I'm stumped. I have my first card put together but I can't decide how to do the letter itself. Any suggestions??

I have my base and my main embellishment but I'm struggling with finding that little extra something. I also don't know how to do my letter.

Any ideas are appreciated!

Here is what I have so far. I did my letter with a rubber stamp and the same black chalk ink as the rest of the card. I still am trying to decide if I need to make a magnifying glass to cover the Mickey head. Hope it helps a little...

I also used a mickey head and stamped on my letter & inked the edges... I'm looking for my one last little thing..and like I posted earlier DD gave me an idea I need to test today..

I used a Mickey Head font for my letter. In red. And it is the top of the antenna for Rolie Polie Olie. So mine really sticks up. But it's cute.
