Abc Tv

Does anyone know if we can get ABC tv here in the UK, or on the net.

When we were there at beginning of Dec they were filming the Christmas Disney Special to be shown on Christmas Day on ABC and it would be nice to find out who some of the "stars" were.

Having looked at the ABC website it doesn't appear that they broadcast over the internet, although they do broadcast clips of shows but only if you have a broadband connection.
As for satellite, Sky doesn't and it is unlikely you could get a signal from an American satellite, without paying a fortune for all the equipment needed.

Taping it wouldn't help you guys, would it? I mean our tapes/dvds don't work in your systems. Right?

Most VCRs currently sold in the UK are dual standard playback but record PAL only.

If David bought his VCR in the last couple of years, he most probably would be able to play back NTSC tapes. (and VCRs are now being sold at give-away prices)

DVD players in UK are mostly restricted to European Zone 2 DVDs, though many on the market are zone-free. Most Zone 2 DVD players can be 'chipped', that is to have an add-on piggyback chip added that disables the zone chip.

I understand that some DVDs are now being sold that refuse to play on a 'chipped' player.
