ABC gone too far, Bird Flu In America

i believe on wednesday a tv special called "Bird Flu In America" I can def not watch this. To think that it could happen if the virus mutates it just freaks me out.

while we were watching Extreme Makeover last Sunday, there was a commercial for a made for TV movie - it looked really over the top - worst case scenario and then some. I hope people take it with a grain of salt and don't panic.

It could happen and probably their worst senerio could also happen. Given that most corporations, govt. agencies and the like haven't done much to formulate a plan in case of the event of Bird Flu, perhaps it's a good idea to focus some serious attention to it - even if it is in the form of fictional tv.

Look at it this way, what if 6 months before Katrina there was a made for tv movie about the exact event. Could the govt. still claim "they didn't know it was a possibility" and blame their incompetence on ignorance? Apprently warnings of a Katrina like event from Govt. agencies and scientists wasn't enough to motivate politicans to act. Maybe a movie will have more effect.

Bird Flu is real - just like the 1918 virus was real that killed millions of people world wide. All Bird Flu is waiting for is that little evolutionary jump from bird to bird/human to human to human.
