ABC 8x8 - POSTAL!!!!!!!!!!

really??? 'cause i thought it was just me???:confused3

i bought some really cute train felt pieces for my "R" pages that i want to put on my mats so should i just cut you enough for each mat but not stick it in?? i was reading the sign ups and it says you have to be able to slip your pic under the embellishment. on my "N" pages i put ribbon but you slip it under.
am i making any sense at all????
advice???

I usually put my pieces in the corners of the mats. (Except Yippee & Zoom pages those have stuff in the middle) I will lay the piece on the mat and see where the pieces will hit the farthest layer on the mat and put my foam pop-up dots/squares there to lay the embellishing piece on. This way I know there is plenty of space to move a photo on under it.

For my ribbon and fiber I always adhere it in the back leaving the front of the mat completely free to slide the photo under.

Does that help or confuse more?

i think i'm still a little confussed???:confused3
it's self adhesive felt pieces. so i can stick it to the mats because then you would not be able to stick the photo under it.
and it's a big part of the theme of the page. :confused3

do you want to see a pic??

I always want to see pics. :)

You can still use the foam pop-up dots/squares on that piece. Just leave the backing on it or make it no more sticky if it is the kind you have to peel off a sheet. Baby powder will make it no more sticky. But that only works for stickers. Your baby will still be sticky.

Post a pic. I was going to say the same thing AWM, leave the backing on and just tack the felt at the ends or behind the mat.

PO3 -- here are some things to try

1. Put it on a square or whatever shape seems to work, and then pop dot that
or

2. adhere it to cardstock and hand cut around it to make a shadow, then pop dot it

If you like this idea and need to see a photo, let me know.

ok guys i'll be right back. let me take a pic and show you what i mean. k?

I'm agreeing w/ AWM & Buffy...
try to keep the backing on the felt piece and only take it off where it hits the back mat than whom ever wants to can take the rest of the backing off after they put their photo on if they chose..

ok so i'm going to post a few things here.....
1st is my completed "R" pages. i hope they are ok. i really stressed out about this for some reason. i put my whole heart into and i think they are ok. the N is cap letters and pop dotted and the opposite color from the rest of the letters. hope that's all ok......

and next is my mats for my "R" pages. i have not done the title part yet. i'm thinking i might do a topper that one i'll only need one set of letters. and not sure about my big R yet?? so what about this train piece??

I like the train on the horizontal mat best. Have the wheels hang off the mat.

I like the Non Stop fun one a lot.

so a couple of ?'s

have the wheels sticking off the mat so just pop dot the ends? so the pic slides under?
and do both mats horizontal?

and thanks for saying you like the non stop it was totally stressing me out today!!!:scared1:

Put one on each end and one in the middle the bottom of the car right where it hits the bottom of the mat. This will give it support across the whole thing. By putting the dot on the black mat, the photo will have plenty of space on the white to move around if they want to journal at the very top.

Love non stop fun! I love how the ribbon looks like a road, too cute!

As for the train, well I'm no help cause I was going to say I liked it vertical and you could just tack down the mat then tack down the train on the ends outside the mat. But on the other hand you can see the train better on the horizontal.

Hmmmm, I say go with the way AWM described.

ETA: And it must be a transportation issue because I'm having trouble with my Transportation layout too. ERGH!

I need some opinions on my T page

I like the topper, it's different. I don't have the T cut yet and the arrow will be this paper as will the trim on the journal box. The top of the arrow on the title is on the first page and the tail is on the second:

The journal box tucks in behind either mat.

I want to use all 3 elements since they came in the same package but I can't get the placement right.

Any ideas? Suggestions???

and ignore the mark in the paper, DD blessed it with something that wouldn't come off (who knows what) so it has become my template piece.

i love it the way it is!!! and i love all the arrows. the journal box it way to cute!

thanks for the help with my pages. i just want them to be nice!

PO3, Nonstop Fun is a great page!!!!! On your R page, I really like the train. I think it'll work great on either the horizontal or vertical mats.

BAMB, I really like your Transporation layout. The topper is very creative!!! I don't really know what to tell you about the placement of the elements. I think where you have them works.

Other than maybe trying the Trains at a more veritical angle, I like them the way they are too. What other color are you going to use on the mats & box?

Bamb: love transportation.. I like the lo the way it is...

Po3: Love the pages... I'm w/ you for some of the titles, I changed them to toppers because it was taking so blasted long to cut and glue, cut/glue, cut/ glue dozens of letters...
