Thanks for asking this. Im also lost at times. I understand the abbreviations for
castaway cay and such, but I dont understand the category terms like GTY (not even sure if i got it right). There are a few category abbreviations that im not familiar with.
GTY is often confused with *GT. GTY simply means that a certain percentage of staterooms in that category have already been booked, and you can no longer select a specific stateroom for your reservation. GTY will have a specific category (i.e., 10A GTY, 7B GTY, 4A GTY) and you are agreeing to allow
DCL to assign you any stateroom in that specific category or higher. This is NOT a discounted rate.
*GT are discounted rates -- IGT (interior), OGT (oceanview) and VGT (verandah). This rates MAY be released less than 75 days prior to the sail date (after the PIF) and you are allowing DCL to assign you any stateroom in the broad category (interior, oceanview, verandah).
Other discount abbreviations (which do not apply to opening day rates) include:
FLR - Florida resident discount rate
MIL - military discount rate
KSF - kids sail free
The stateroom category number and letter refer to a specific type of stateroom and the location (deck, forward/aft/midship). Categories 10-11 are interior staterooms; 8-9 are oceanview staterooms, and 4-7 are verandah staterooms.
